NCG Cinemas - Kingsport — Attraction in Kingsport

Visited NGC Cinema at 2101 Fort Henry Dr, Kingsport, TN on July 8, 2025, for the 7:45 p.m. showing of Jurassic World Rebirth in Theater 9 with my family of four, including two children. The experience was deeply concerning due to health and safety issues. The theater was unbearably hot, easily 80°F or more, despite it being 94°F outside. Halfway through, my husband suffered nausea and excessive sweating, nearly experiencing a medical emergency from the heat. My kids and I were also uncomfortable. Only after I complained to management did they turn on the air conditioning. It felt like they kept it off to push $6 drink sales, which is unacceptable.

The seats were visibly dirty and worn, they aren't cleaned properly between showings, and according to the reviews, everyone is noticing this factor but the theater. This raises serious concerns about head lice and disease spread. Several patrons were openly coughing, and the poor ventilation made it a breeding ground for illness. I contacted corporate but got no response. This theater needs serious improvements in cleanliness and air conditioning to ensure patron safety. I urge others to avoid it until these issues are addressed. I will be taking my business to AMC...

This movie theater is in serious need of renovations! I’m sure that’s a catch-22 situation because they probably need people to visit in order to afford that, but this is unfortunately the worst theater I’ve ever attended!

First, the online system had issues releasing the seats if you tried to buy in person instead of online. The workers didn’t know how long it would take and said 30 min-1 hour, but the system said 9 minutes so that was no good. Second, the snacks are insanely expensive for what you get! I spent roughly $50 for 3 hot dogs with stale bread, two ICEEs that we were self-serve, a 16 oz bottle of water (could’ve at least had 20 oz!) and a large popcorn that was $9.75 by itself! Third, the smell of the theater (we were in number 3) was pungent and the seats were in TERRIBLE condition! On top of this, they didn’t even have trays!!! This is the first theater I’ve ever been to that didn’t have trays available. And having the trash can inside the theater instead of outside the door just added insult to injury.

Thankfully, my kids didn’t seem to mind any of this, which is why I gave it three stars instead of 1-2, but I will never visit again. I felt grossed out just being...

We went to see the new Jurassic World movie this evening. It's been a couple of years since we've been to this theater. It has definitely went down hill in that time frame. First off $41 for a large stale popcorn, 2 large drinks, a small bag of candy, and a kids tray with maybe a cup of popcorn, fruit snack , and small drink is crazy.The snacks were more than the four tickets I purchased. Second, where are all the employees. There was no one letting you know you could go into the theater or checking tickets. Third, the theater at least theater 1 is really run down looking. The seats are very worn and squeaky. The room smelled like stale cigarettes. We were the only ones in there when we went in so I know it was another patron that smelled like it. Also when we were getting ready to leave after the movie was over a mouse ran by the chair next to where the handicap section is. So gross! Update....I followed up with them using the information provided in their response and never heard back. I guess they don't really care to make it...
