Theatre Knoxville Downtown — Attraction in Knoxville

This is my second time attending a performance at Theatre Knoxville Downtown. I travelled 2 hours to see their performance of "Waiting for Godot". I love the space, it has great "bones." They have been operating in a state of rebuilding since the 2020 pandemic occurred. Certain upgrades to the theater have not been able to be undertaken due to circumstances related to the shutdown. Nevertheless, they have created a safe, distanced theater experience for all. The choice of "Godot" was absolutely apropos, and my first viewing of the classic Samuel Beckett masterpiece was unexpectedly hilarious and moving. I suspect that the director allowed the stage mayhem to spontaneously develop, utilizing the vast talents of the versatile and well integrated cast. If one were to be inspired to donate funds to artistic organizations that will enhance the Knoxville community, Theatre Knoxville Downtown is a worthy endeavor for all financial...

Oh my gosh. I saw many people headed one way …

My husband did tension fabric construction on the Worlds fair area a few years ago. He didn’t explore much then, as I am his personal Tavel guide now, we began at the WFC and kind of started making the block in search of a restroom, ended up at strabys and I just kept noticing people headed in the further downtown direction, so we went and ended up at a free show at the Knoxville theatre !! A must stop! From the beautiful building itself to the fact that Mondays they hold free shows from local bands - which was amazing - there are so many details and wish I brought in my camera vs using a phone for pics alas- go see it your self! The staff here is so knowledgeable and friendly (like much of the volunteer state) what a joy to have walked into, officer outside got to talking with us and invited us in and we’re so glad we took time out to enjoy this. Ok , so I haven't been here yet but I want to give this place 5 stars for working with me , I booked tickets in advance & I'm out -of- town , BUT I goofed BIG time, b/c I scheduled on TN football " game night" , and I called that night and couldn't get a good enough signal to get the call through, so I scratched it and got home at 3am, so I contacted them on Facebook messenger the next day and was told they could rebook me tickets for a later date ! I felt compensated and they even offered for a much later date , and I just felt they were really exceptional in how they handled it , the website says " refunds at owners discretion" , and thank you for handling and compensating this mishaps, I will recommend it too all my...
