My friend and I got gift cards for Christmas and were thrilled to have a spa day. The foot soak and massages were great and the staff members conducting our spa experience were as sweet as could be. However, our experience with customer service was sub par. Upon arrival, we were immediately shushed as to not “disturb the spa experience of others.” Mind you, we were speaking at a respectable volume as we attempted to check in and were unaware of the expectations of absolute silence. During our spa experience, the staff members assigned to us went to refill our water basins so my friend and I were quietly whispering about our experience so far. Another staff member not even assigned to us came over, crouched down, and immediately said, “we ask that you refrain from talking while other guests are getting their massages. They should have told you that.” Now, it’s fine if we are not whispering at a volume that is acceptable. But she approached it in such a belittling manner that it was almost like our experience was less important than others’. Not to mention, the couple we were “bothering” were just as loud and were not told to “refrain from speaking” at all. Her approach rubbed me the wrong way and quite frankly made me mad, so I was unable to fully relax during my massage. Long story short, the actual spa experience was great, but I suggest going by yourself or with someone you don’t enjoy being with as to not run the risk of being shushed and belittled during your session. And just a suggestion - if you’re so concerned with volume levels, maybe put up some walls instead of having each set of chairs facing each other, separated by a sheer curtain. And maybe have some signs up that indicate the required volume level so guests can be fully aware. We won’t be back, but maybe others will have a more...
Read moreI recently visited Wake Foot Sanctuary with a gift certificate. I didn't have an appointment, but the staff kindly accommodated me as a walk-in with just a 2.5-hour wait—perfect timing to enjoy lunch and explore a few nearby shops. On my way back, however, I got caught in a torrential downpour without an umbrella and arrived completely drenched—like I had walked through a car wash.
To my great relief, the manager greeted me with such kindness and grace. Despite my soaked appearance, I was welcomed in warmly and invited to relax in the reception area without hesitation. Their response immediately eased my embarrassment and set the tone for the rest of the visit.
My foot soak and massage experience was nothing short of heavenly. My attendant was both professional and calming, and the head, neck, and shoulder massage left me feeling soothed and completely pampered. The entire environment was elegant and serene, with a lobby that smelled divine and offered thoughtful touches like spa slippers and sparkling or still water. I enjoyed my own tea kettle of mint, lavender, and chamomile tea. The weight and texture of the tea kettle and little cup felt high-end and was an additional treat to the senses.
While waiting, I browsed their beautiful retail items and found a lovely hand-hammered brass bracelet with a turquoise stone for my sister—plus a few other pieces I may come back for.
Even soaked to the bone, I left Wake Foot Sanctuary feeling relaxed, restored, and genuinely cared for....
Read moreMy experience at Wake was phenomenal. I felt relaxed from the moment I entered the lobby to the second I left. The combination of relaxing music, sweet smells, and dim lighting instantly put me at ease. I did a soothing foot soak with a 40 minute add on (two 20 minute massages, hand/arm and head/neck/shoulders). The kindness of the staff made me feel comfortable throughout the entire evening, asking if the water needed to be warmed, how the pressure was, or if we needed anything. Lisa was incredible and made an effort to ensure I received the best possible experience. Everyone there was extremely soft-spoken to not ruin the calming environment, which added to the whole experience. It was so peaceful. Not to mention the tea was delicious! I definitely recommend visiting this spa, but make sure to book early in advance and pay attention to the booking agreements; checking in early was so important because of the paperwork and getting everything set up. Relaxing in the lobby with fancy slippers on was just an added bonus! With how great the customer service was, it is no surprise that this place is extremely busy. I will...
