iMechanic, Apple iPhone Repair — Attraction in Kokomo

IMechanic is the BEST place to get your device fixed. A couple days ago, I had dropped my phone face down on the concrete, and the screen immediately went black. I have also had problems with my phone screen glitching and not working properly. I was able to walk right into the shop the day it happened with no appointment and they took in my issue immediately. They knew exactly what needed done and explained everything in a way that I could understand. They took about two hours on my phone, which was very timely in my opinion. Something I must mention is how I had gone to the place in the Markland Mall a couple months ago with the same issue (dropped my phone, screen went black). The person I worked with at IMechanic told me that when he replaced my screen, he didn’t put all the screws and the foam seal back on my phone when he fixed it. Along with that, the person at the mall said my Face ID feature would no longer work on this phone due to the damage I had caused. After getting my screen fixed at IMechanic, my Face ID works with no problem at all! Some other things I noticed when comparing the two is the that screen from IMechanic feels sturdy and made my phone heavier. That to me shows that they use the proper products, not something cheap that won’t last like the screen from the mall. The screen also does not glitch anymore, like it continued to do after I got my phone fixed at the mall. The prices were also comparable. I paid $130 at the mall for a horrible job and $149 at IMechanic to get my phone properly taken care of. They also offered a half price tempered glass screen protector with my purchase (Only $10!!!) AND installed it for me. They were actually closed when they installed my protector, which I would’ve had to do on my own anywhere else. When trying to finish up, though, they ran into a problem. My phone was locked due to issues that ensued from the broken screen. They continued to work on it and took even more time out of their night to stay and completely restart my phone to make sure that when I left, I was able to get right back on it without an issue. I have now had my phone back for a couple days and it’s working perfectly, like nothing ever happened. Overall, IMechanic is the only repair shop I will go to for all of my devices, even with the fact that it’s out of town for me. The customer service was excellent (they really care for their customers) and my phone is in perfection condition now. I initially thought this establishment was well ran and very professional. I was fooled by their fake friendliness. I took my wife’s iPhone XS Max to them less then 90 days ago to replace her screen. They replaced the screen and everything was fine until last night the upper corner of the screen started to separate from the phone. This morning we went to our son’s football game. We get home and she was planning on taking the phone in to have them fix the defect when the phone slipped out of her hand and landed on the carpet resulting in the internal screen breaking due to the phone screen being partially separated. She took the phone to them and they said there was nothing they could do. I called and nicely articulated why I thought they were not being fair with that answer. I explained that screen broke due to the corner being separated not due to the fall of the phone because the phone is protected by tempered glass that they installed. The owner even admitted that the screen being separated from the phone was a defect on their end but refused to replace it free of charge and wanted more money than we originally paid for the initial screen replacement. I strongly urge against anyone utilizing this businesses screen replacement service. Which is sad and hard for me to say because I am a huge supporter of local small business. I was hoping for at a minimum of a 50 percent discount toward a new screen. Sure my wife broke the phone and they can’t take our word for when it happened but they did admit it broke due to a defect they caused during screen installation. This place is not a business that I’d recommend ever. I was due a refund for a PS 5 system & every time I asked about the progress of it, there was an excuse. Josh was rude the last day I talked to him because I called to check on it for the third time. I was told that they would get back with me with a receipt of the refund and was expecting a call back with an update but never received it until I called again. I know there’s a process on the return but when someone tells me that they are going to call me back, that’s what i expect to happen. I should not have to keep calling for a refund that’s due to me then get unprofessionalism behind it. Just all around terrible service, especially since the PS5 went in for one thing, got it back & it kept shutting off. Then turned out that it didn’t work because of a panel issue that wasn’t there before, I found that out when I called back to check on it for the third time.
