This was a complete and udder nightmare. Avoid thid establishment if you are African-American!! They do not appreciate our value. Very unprofessional and extremely discriminatory!! I booked a room at the Bliss, after arriving in town. The young lady at the front desk did not notice that I requested an early check-in upon arrival. 1st error. I booked a room with a bathtub and a separate bathroom. According to her they only have one room with a bathtub in the entire establishment. That's weird, but ok... no big deal. She gives me a room. I go to my vehicle and get my bags, she watches me come back in carrying my things, we make eye contact. I proceed to my room. I get in the room and instantly, I smell smoke. These are supposed to be non-smoking rooms. The sheets are dirty and the bathroom was unclean. I return to the front desk and inform the young lady of this. She asked me if I used the beds or anything in the room... 🤔⁉️. How is that even possible, you just watched me walk in with my belongings and almost immediately came back downstairs to ask for another room. She reluctantly give me another room after a brief confrontation. This room wasn't immaculate, but much better, it'll do. Later that night, my cousin came to the same establishment, booked a room, and ask me why she gave him that exact same room!!? She did not go investigate or call cleaning to change the sheets or clean the room. She left it the same and tried to pawn it off on someone else. Unbeknownst to her, we actually knew one another. When he came to my room to explain what had happened, she called me multiple times telling me that I couldn't have guest in my room 🤯😲 the room I paid for!!! After he told me what had happened, we both went to the front desk to get manager information and details to report this when we could. 1 hour later, we received a call from the law enforcement in Kokomo saying we had been trespassed from the premises. Mind you, I had not slept in the bed and all my belongings were still in the room. I had to ve escorted by a cop to retrieve my belongings!!! I have NEVER been in trouble with the law. I have always done my best in life to avoid going down that path. So, to be tteated like a 2nd class citizen after giving this establishment my hard earned money, is completely unacceptable and unfair. This place needs to shut down or ran by people who knows customer service and value your hard earned dollars. I am looking to for a lawyer and can hopefully take legal actions. This was completely racist and discriminatory. She definitely racially profiled me and my cousin and then played victim as if we did something wrong to her. We never got irritate or belligerent with her, but yet we were trespassed without any defense or regards to what...
Read moreThis is a 5-star hotel to me. Although it is not what most would label a 5-star hotel, as it is a budget hotel. But I got everything I needed and expected here and it was great in my opinion.
First of all, when I got there, everything looked like the photos posted on the internet and Priceline. So many places put up 30-year-old photos, or maybe fake ones, and are not at all as they appeared. I think this is why they won't give a refund when booking online.
I paid $51, after taxes, which is a great rate these days, and there were no extra unexpected fees added to the advertised price. The room was completely clean, it had microwave, refrigerator, and was fully stocked with toilet paper, soap, towels and everything one might need. The A/C and hot water worked, as well as the TV and remote control, and I did not see any bugs.
Extra benefits I got that are hard to find in budget hotels are plenty of outlets to plug in your devices. At most hotels you cannot even find a plug for your laptop at the desk, or anywhere else in the room. Aso there was a luggage cart available, and the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Most important to me, they have great Wi-Fi speed. Most hotels don't pay the extra cost to give their guests good upload speeds, and I would spend 3 hours uploading 1 file, when I have 15 files to complete. So I usually end up sitting in Walmart parking lot until 2 a.m. uploading. There were even plug in air fresheners in the hallways that made everything smell fresh and clean.
I go to a hotel when traveling for work. I am looking for a place to take a shower, finish my work for the day, and get a night's sleep that is clean, safe, and does not have bedbugs or roaches. I got all of these things at this hotel for a great price, so to me it gets 5 stars. If you are looking for a place to stay in Kokomo and you do not require a Hilton-type place, this is where you...
Read moreUpon arrival, I was immediately introduced to the hotel’s interpretation of “hospitality,” which apparently includes communal hair samples tucked discreetly beneath the bed covers. These were not the sort of welcome gifts one might hope for. The bedding ensemble across multiple layers — blanket, cover, and sheets — featured an impressive array of stains, varying in both color and origin, offering a forensic mystery I had no interest in solving.
The flooring throughout the property seemed to oscillate between sticky and treacherously slippery, achieving a balance between discomfort and hazard. A walk across the room was akin to navigating a poorly maintained skating rink coated in syrup.
The bathroom facilities further elevated the experience: the toilet was not only unflushed upon arrival but thoughtfully decorated with visible “butt crusties” and stray pubic hairs. It was clear the previous guest’s biological legacy had been preserved in full.
When offered a second room, optimism briefly flared — only to be swiftly extinguished by a continuation of sticky flooring, now accompanied by mold flourishing along the base of the shower curtain. Towels and washcloths were adorned with various stains and residues, suggesting that “fresh linens” here simply means “recycled with flair.”
Finally, for those who believe sleep is for the weak, the hotel’s beds — harder than philosophical existentialism — ensured that no guest would dare attempt comfort for too long.
In conclusion, if you are seeking an immersive experience in forensic microbiology, or simply want to practice hovering above surfaces without touching them, this property will exceed your wildest expectations. Otherwise, it may be prudent to consider alternative accommodations where hygiene and comfort are more than...
