I came back and tried again. They totally redeemed themselves. The chasu was fantastic this time. I will definitely be coming back. And they were incredibly nice, there was a guy making balloon animals for my daughter there as well. They were so nice to her.
They could still use some more tare. But that might be a personal preference.

Uchi is so close to being a good restaurant, but misses the mark just a little bit.
Their meat is very tough and very bland. It’s like they just boiled it in water or something. I got chicken Ramen with chashu added once. The chicken and chashu were so tough and bland that I couldn’t tell the difference between the two. So far I have had their Chashu, beef, and chicken. Each of them was pretty bad.
There isn’t enough seasoning (tare) in their broth, so it’s bland (my friend got their Tonkotsu, and said it was very good, so maybe just the chicken Ramen and Beef Ramen is bad).
They don’t warm up the eggs (they are good eggs) before putting them into the Ramen. It’s not a huge deal, because you can just wait for the broth to warm up the egg.
If they just watch some YouTube videos on how to do Chashu right (it should be marinated, not just sliced and boiled pork belly) and put more tare in their soup, they would have a very good dish that is worth the price. They are very close to good ramen.
However, their plating is absolutely beautiful. I am not used to eating pretty food, but I do have to admit that it is very nice. Their vegetables are also very good! Their drinks are expensive but very very good. And their appetizers are quite nice. I want this place to be good because I don’t like driving 40 minutes south...
Read moreThis restaurant offers a truly delightful atmosphere and some of the best oriental fast food/ cuisine i have tasted in Kokomo.
From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the comfortable ambiance and the genuinely warm and welcoming staff. Their kindness and friendliness added a significant positive touch to the entire dining experience.
I opted for the Happy Bowl (poke) and the takoyaki. The Happy Bowl was a generous and satisfying meal, featuring perfectly cooked rice and an abundance of quality protein. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, making it a truly enjoyable dish.
The takoyaki, while tasty, had a few minor drawbacks. The octopus was cooked to perfection, but the portion within each ball was disappointingly small, almost negligible. The texture was also a bit on the mushy side. However, the overall flavor profile was still enjoyable. Despite the minor issue with the takoyaki,
I was thoroughly impressed with the restaurant and its offerings. The prices are more than fair for the quality and quantity of food provided.
I'm already planning my next visit to try their ramen, which I've heard great things about.

Read moreFood was great!! Will definitely come back for the food The server with red hair however was not great at all. We were her only table, it was us and another table being served by another waitress. I ordered a boba and a coke for the other person that was at the table with me. I could see my boba sitting ready on the counter it sat there for about 10-15 mins after it was made while she was bragging to a man about how much money she was making in tips. I was just about to get up to get up to grab the boba and the coke can from the cooler when she finally got them.
We ordered garlic edamame, you asked if we wanted salted or garlic. You rang up salted.
No refills on the empty coke or waters..
Our ramen sat at the window for a bit while you were too...
