My room was clean and had been updated/redone as recently as any other Super 8. No visible stains, bugs, paint chips, or broken furniture. The bed wasn't super comfy because the mattress was a bit hard and the appliances were definitely outdated, but they were still very clean and well upkept. I did notice a bit of duct tape on the shower head, but it was also a detachable shower head which I love, so I didn't really mind. You could also definitely hear most of what was going on in the rooms around you (I learned a lot about the lady next door's grandson at 8am while I was trying to squeeze in my last hour of sleep), but it doesn't seem to be a super busy place, so I imagine you could request a room away from others that were occupied and you'd be just fine. The lady working the front desk when I checked in was perfectly pleasant, and all the check-in and check-out processes were super simple.
It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect out of a Super 8: Decent accommodations for a cheap price. Nothing fancy, but also nothing really old or gross, which is always something to worry about at cheaper places. I'm definitely really happy with my choice to stay there while I was in Kokomo for the night, but if you're planning on staying for any length of time, you may want to consider a pricier place.
One thing I did think was really great, however, were the handicap accommodations. I somehow wound up with a handicap room, and the bathroom was a really great set up for anyone in a wheelchair or with any issues with stability. The shower was spacious despite not having a tub, and the design of the walk-in was phenomenal. There was no elevation to the shower floor, so a person with a cane or walker wouldn't need to worry about tripping over the lip that is normally there, and there were treads all over the shower floor to help with traction and prevent falls. There were hand rails all around the shower and toilet, and they even provided a sizeable shower chair! If you're looking for handicap accommodations, definitely consider...
Read moreChecked in on a Sunday afternoon at 3 PM, since rooms are not ready util then. But the desk clerk, Scott, was very courteous and helpful. I paid $55 plus tax, came out to $61 and some change for a room with a nice comfortable King size bed. It's in a nice quiet area with plenty of restaurants near by, and other hotels. This one has the rooms u get to from the inside of the hotel, and those are the hotels I like. There is an indoor swimming pool, so don't matter what time of year u arrive, u can get in some swimming if u like. They serve a continental breakfast only in the morning, but for the the price, I sorta expected it. -------They are putting new carpet in the rooms at this time, so expect the halls to be a little cluttered, and my room had a roll of carpet next to the door when I got to my room, so I had to ask the guy to move it. He was courteous about it. -------There is is Fridge and Microwave in the rooms, but my microwave was plugged into a lamp that had a plug and didn't work, so I had to move the microwave to other side of room and plug it in to another wall socket to work it. There is also free wifi that works great,
The only reason I didn't give it a better rating is because of the Microwave. and there are cigarette buts all over the ground next to the lobby entrance. The parking lot could also use a good cleaning. But over all I had a nice stay and was quiet at night. Your vehicles are safe in the parking lot. I drive a freight van and need to watch the vehicle, so a safe parking lot is important to me. The only other choice for the same price near by, was a Days Inn down the road, but doesn't look promising at all. I realize that some customers expect more than I do, so you may read opposing reviews, but I had a good experience and I will come back to this Super 8 if I am ever in Kokomo IN again. Can't beat it...
Read moreTERRIBLE!! I typically refrain from sharing feedback, but I feel compelled to express my thoughts on my experience at this super 8 hotel in Kokomo Indiana. As a frequent traveler for work, I have tried out various accommodations in the area, and this particular one was by far the stinkiest and dirtiest.
The room next to mine had a water leak and got the carpet wet which caused a very foul odor in the entire hotel because they left the door open to air it out. The eye watering stench of death lingered into the room i was staying in causing me to change rooms. The housekeeper noticed i had my service animal with me but i thought nothing of it because i informed the hotel of my service animal upon check in. However i recieve a call from the front desk later on saying i owed $450 for my pet she claims i didnt tell her about so i reminded her how the pet is my service animal so she says she has to tell the manager. I get another call stating that the service animal is fine but i still owe $150 for a stain in the carpet the housekeepers claimed my dog made. I argued with her becuase i know for a fact it wasnt my dog and there wasnt any stain on the carpet. I was out with my service animal during these calls and when i got back to the hotel my card key didnt work. I was denied access to the room i had prepaid for a week and denied a refund for the three remaining prepaid nights.
The room has fleas and the milk was always sour from the breakfast they provided. The few times they cleaned my room i had to beg them to clean it. And when they would clean it they never cleaned the bathroom toilet or shower. They would barge into the room when they came to clean instead of knocking. So if you are thinking of staying here get ready to throw up because of the smell and bad service. Also be ready to be...
