This is not about the La Mesa, CA, store, but rather about the Office Depot OfficeMax system. Ordered computer desk online. Two hours later wanted to cancel order online, but the system would not allow me. Ended up in chat with a customer service person. He told me that the only way to cancel order was to refuse order when delivered. Next morning went to local La Mesa, CA, Office Depot to have them cancel the order but was told that I needed to call 1-800-go-depot and they would cancel the order. Called the number and after going through a long menu, was able to speak to a human. She told me that I would have to refuse order at time of delivery and that she could not track order to see how close it was to delivery. I asked her to contact the shipper and cancel delivery. After keeping on the phone for 7 minutes, she came back and said that she could not do that. I asked for a supervisor, and she said that there were no supervisors available. I asked her for the shipper's name, which she gave to me. I looked up the shipper's name and got its San Diego office number. I called the number and spoke with a dispatcher, who was able to call the delivery supervisor to stop delivery. This took me 5 minutes. The delivery was canceled, and I receive a message from Office Depot telling me that my money would be refunded in 5-7 business days. That was two days ago. This entire and plainly unnecessary waste of my time took 4.5 days to be resolved. Why couldn't I cancel the online order only hours after placing it? Whatever I purchase online from Amazon or Walmart, for example, I can cancel almost immediately and would get a cancellation confirmation email that same day. I don't like your return policy and process. It is antiquated and inefficient. I will never again purchase anything online from Office...
Read moreI went to print (on time) before closing time. There was a young lady who was helping me print. She told me to send my documents to a certain email. Then i had to step out for that email to go through (because reception there is not that good). After I sent it, she then told me to actually send them to a different email address. Then i had to step out again for that email to go through. When it went through, Chris (i believe he was the manager or supervisor) came from the back and told us "unfortunately it is too late to do print out. Please come back tomorrow." And he told her (the girl who was helping us) to go to register and Chris just walked away. No questions. Nothing. Keep in mind she had already been helping us for 5 minutes. Then we asked her if she could still help us because she was the one who adviced me to send it to the wrong email address and she just stood there and did not say a word. I am a student and I've been coming here for 5 years straight to print every week and I have never encountered such disrespect and customer service. It happened today Saturday Aug. 30, 2025. At closing time. I really hope they look into it and take...
Read moreAll I can say is this store is the classic example as to why the store is going bankrupt. It used to be that you would pull up your email on the computer. They printed your docs, and it was like $0.35 a copy. Since covered, they say they don't want you touching the computer so you can't do it the old way. They have two self-service printers that are never working. Instead, they have you sign in on a computer, and wait a ridiculous amount of time while one person takes care of each individual print project. On top of waiting ridiculous amount of time, store manager Melissa Hernandez has instructed the guy running the print section to charge the minimum $2.50 for all print projects, even though the self-service printers are down. So even if you print one piece of paper you pay $250 plus $0.20 tax $2.70. on top of that they don't have any decent printers for sale so you can't even buy a printer. So bought a printer there, eco tank, when ink ran out it...
