Went into Jax after some grains for my chickens. I am willing to pay more for high quality products. I asked the cashier if I could scan them as one especially was heavy. No she wanted to do it and had to reach over the counter to reach them. Instead of lifting the bag as most would do she jerked the large ingredient tag off to get the bar code. It didn’t work for her so then she had to enter it manually. You could see she was already upset. It was expensive and I gave her 3 $50 dollar bills. The total was $115 with change. She handed me back $4.00 and some coins. I said I gave you $150.00. She said No you didn’t! The receipt she handed me said I gave her $120.00. I had to demand she look in the cash drawer - under the other bills There was my $150.00, 3 50’s just as I said) I said you owe me $30, and she finally gave it to me. No apology, nothing. Then she asked her boss to go for a walk! I went over to the rotund guy that appeared to be the boss and said Your cashier doesn’t know how to give change. I didn’t accuse her of deliberating keeping my money or anything. He said - “ I was was hard on her. “ I said she wouldn’t have even looked for my 50’s if I hadn’t insisted!! We just need more patience He said! ! As a customer what I need is good service!! I don’t have time to stand around being patient. I don’t ask anyone to baby me. I only want to get the product so I can go home and do My Work. She made a mistake so she has to go for a walk with his blessing! Employees are pathetic nowadays! But their bosses who baby...
Read moreI have been coming here for years, I love to support local, recently I went in to conduct business and ask for help from a manager. After being told the person that wasn't dressed like an employee told me he was a manager I waited for the store manager Tim. I couldn't tell who was more rude, Tim or the other guy. I had my employee there and we both were shocked that they couldn't figure out how to help with an item that was over $50 without being condescending or rude. So I went to Tractor Supply and bought the same thing for $10 cheaper! Maybe they should think about the fact that chasing someone off and offending them that there are identical stores now everywhere, oh and the internet exists. I am no longer going to this location and I look forward to speaking to someone about my experience there, I would recommend you going anywhere else until they can retrain courtesy back into their employees. Lowe's opens on the 10th of August! Can't wait, this place might have to close one of the 2 desperate locations they have in Lafayette! Home Depot is 8 minutes away Tractor Supply is 5 minutes away and Ace Hardware is 5 minutes away. Super helpful people in all those other places maybe cause they had...
Read moreI was looking for some cold weather gloves, as I am outside quite a bit due to the nature of my work. So I stopped into Jax in Lafayette to see what they had to offer. As I had never been in the store before, I asked one of their associates if they had any cold weather gear and he pointed me in the right direction. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for, and a whole lot more. From BBQ's to cast iron cookware, Jax is more like a one stop shop for just about everything you need and all reasonably priced. The Cashier's were very helpful in helping me with a couple of questions I had, and they were very knowledgeable about the store and the products they sell, which makes Jax a place I am definitely going to patronize because of the wide variety of merchandise that makes for perfect Christmas stocking stuffers, and most importantly the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. They are the foundation of any businesses success. And Jax in Lafayette should be proud of the effort they bring to the table every day....
