What a wonderful spot! I drove all the way from Denver to check out this place and it was absolutely worth it. Qing Qing, the owner, is the sweetest and truly knows what hospitality means — give her a chat and you will see!
Qing Qing is also incredibly knowledgable on tea. It is one thing to be a place that sells tea, it is another to be a tea house! She learned her craft at a tea school in China, which was the coolest thing I’ve ever heard (I didn’t even know tea schools existed)!
On top of the kind and knowledgable owner, the ambiance is absolutely wonderful in here. You can tell a lot of thought was put into making a visit to this shop both a comfortable and a welcoming experience. The decor is absolutely beautiful — there is even decor in the bathroom! There is free wifi and (from what I could tell) some outlets as well.
One of the coolest things about Day Day Up Tea is that they offer Gongfu tea ceremonies, which is (based on my limited understanding) the Chinese version of a tea ceremony. Just give the place a call to make a reservation! I believe they take groups up to 6 people.
As for the actual drink I ordered, I got an earl grey milk tea with boba. They offer the non-dairy option of almond milk, which I got. The drink was perfectly sweetened and was happily enjoyed! I really enjoy a balanced boba drink and find that most places make their drinks way too sweet — no issue here! I am excited to come back and try the other teas, particularly a simple brewed tea. The marker of a good tea house is if a plain brewed tea is delicious, and I have no doubt that Qing Qing would brew a killer cup of tea!
All in all, this is a wonderful small business ran by an incredibly kind and passionate owner. Come visit and see...
Read moreSad day. Went in to try the shop as I had never been in before. Nobody was in line ahead of myself and my roomate. The atmosphere was nice and the lone girl working was making drinks for the previous order. She did not greet or acknowledge us in any way but we still had fun looking at the tea sets and the amusing little toys by the front counter. We continued to wait. ... and wait... for the lone worker to do their thing while they appeared to be listening to music with their earpods in. A long eventually later, my roomate orders their drink and it was made quite quickly. The attendant then DID NOT COME TO THE LAST WAITING CUSTOMER IN LINE WHOM HAD BEEN THERE FOR 15 MINUTES AND INSTEAD BEGAN SOME SORT OF PREP WORK RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I asked if I could please order and she responded that yes she would be right there but instead brought several containers over to the far counter with a sieve of some sort and began working on what appeared to be boba with her back turned to me. I am honestly so mad. Insulting to have waited so patiently and then be blatantly disregarded. I left without ordering anything. I don't think she noticed that we left. I advise others to not go there unless you have the...
Read moreMy wife and I had a disappointing experience at this place in firsttime . We ordered five drinks totaling over $31 using the kiosk and waited outside for around 10-15 minutes. When we went to pick up our order, one boba tea was missing, causing a delay of an additional 5 minutes. Finally, we received all five drinks, but they were handed to us without any cup holders or proper packaging. When we attempted to carry them in the provided thin plastic bag, it split open, spilling everywhere. Despite our request for bag, we were reluctantly given only one and told to pay for additional bags in the future. But I wanted get even 2 bags for those and I was up for paying bags, but she didnt care,Otherthing is When we asked for less sugar in our drinks, they still tasted overwhelmingly sweet with artificial colors. We also suggested they provide more appropriate packaging to avoid spills in the future, but our concerns were disregarded. Overall, our experience was unsatisfactory due to the poor service and lack of attention to...
