Stopped in because I'd heard such good things about this shop. I've given a three star rating because: Employees were very friendly and efficient. I opted for a glass of wine and a charcuterie board. Wine was fantastic because I enjoy white wines extra cold and one of the baristas/servers was very knowledgeable about the Chardonnay. If the shop is going to offer to make a charcuterie board they need to add bread or crackers, 2 meats as well as a small side of something sweet... just a bit of honey or jam. I'm surprised that coffee only comes in one size and they do not offer flavors, although I have read the explanations for this but I think they will lose customers. I want to see small businesses flourish so hope that my comments are seen mostly as suggestions and observations and not criticisms. I'd be happy to see additional groupings of chairs, or even single chairs scattered around, that offer more comfortable seating. From my perspective the atmosphere is incredibly sterile. Just a few plants, lamps, paintings or pictures, and small tables would make the shop more welcoming. Finally, $23.00 for a glass of wine, cheese, nuts and olives seemed pretty expensive although there was plenty for me...
Read moreVery slow service with mediocre espresso and food, and spotty wifi. I came in when there was no one in line, 3 people behind the counter, and ordered a latte. How hard could that be? And yet, 15 minutes later, I had to go back to the counter to ask where my latte was. Somehow, they had managed, between the 3 of them with no other customers, to space out my order.
I was totally unimpressed with their espresso. It's bland and, frankly, Starbucks across the street kicks its ass around the block.
Yeah, I know Starbuck/national franchise = evil. Ok, sure. If you need to balance your karmic debt go here. Otherwise, if you want better espresso, save yourself some frustration and go across the street.
I also ordered coffee cake, which was expensive, dry, and bland. It was like eating a piece of white bread with a bit of sugar on it.
I could not get a good wifi connection because my work computer's network security filter didn't like the fact that their network is insecure. It doesn't require a password and the connection is unencrypted. If your work's network admins know what they are doing, you will not be able to get a workable connection...
Read moreGreat coffee and wonderful baristas. Today, on a Saturday morning, 6 or 7 drinks deep, the barista stopped to check my cup, didn't like the espresso and made another to make sure my latte was good. Really appreciated that attention to detail. I even spoke with a new barista the other day and they were really friendly. You can get yummy spicy or sweet chais (brand is sanctuary and can get take home concentrate as well), as well as a few pastry options. My SO got a decaf pumpkin spice latte and really enjoyed it. Options for things to take home: simple syrups in 2 sizes, oatmilk latte in a jar, soda, apple juice, coffee beans etc. Only thing I didn't like was the apple chaider seasonal drink they have atm- it was really odd and not balanced. Plenty of parking out front. Lots of seating in the coffee shop proper as well as in the community space called "the district" with comfy chairs, tables and great lighting. I always sit out here and still get a mug to drink from instead of a to-go cup and just place it in the used bucket right by the...
