I second the experience of the other Archery department review. This review ONLY covers my experience with that department. I've had good experiences with the other departments so far.
I figured I would give the place a try since its half way between home and work so could be convenient with a full service archery department and onsite range.
My wife and I brought in a few arrows, 2 of mine and 2 of my wife's, to get refletched. Every other store I've been to (in 2 different states no less) will do that on the spot in a few minutes. Nope, had to leave my arrows with the promise that they will be done later or first thing in the morning. No problem, wasn't planning to shoot until the next day anyway and they have a range on site. 1PM the next day, finally get a call but it's the archery department saying they don't understand the note the other associate left. Another 3 hours later at almost 4PM, I get a call that my arrows are done. So much for shooting the last day of my vacation.
As I go and pick up my arrows, the color of the fletching is wrong. My wife and I each have 1 arrow of each of the requested colors instead of her arrows in her request color in mine in my requested color. The associate said it was his fault but he would redo them but I'd have to wait another day since it was late in the day. Nope, I'll just take it some place else. I took my arrows back and will take them to one of the dedicated archery stores. I guess the plus is I didn't have to pay for it but seeing as how I wasted a bunch of time and now need to correct the fletching color on two arrows, that's not saying much.
As an added bonus, I requested a few replacement arrows while I was in the first day. The associate's recommendation got the spine count wrong and recommended an arrow that wasn't rigid enough for either bow nor long enough for the draw length of one of them even though I had just handed him my current arrows for refletching so finding a comparable replacement arrow should have been super simple.
Just stick with one dedicated archery shops. Never had a bad experience with...
Read moreSo today I went in to Jax outdoor to return a gift that I got for my birthday cause the item didn’t fit me. Come to find out right away that they don’t carry those items so I left. I talked with my friend that gifted me the items and he said he swore he got the items from that Jax outdoor store. So I went back to double check if they carried the items, 3 minutes after walking in the store looking at the items to see if they carried what I had. This Tall Male by the name Mike (maybe a manager) came up to me asking if I needed help I explained what I was doing double checking the store didn’t carry the item h had. Mike said nope don’t carry that item, which I said okay. So Mike just stands there behind me watching me. I asked him if he wanted to help me look? Right after that Mike said “ the store jf actually closed now so you got to leave.” But I said there’s still time and people are here still also. No he ordered me to leave. I didn’t argue I just left in shock!! I’m a Hispanic Native American and medium dark color skin. I felt he was raciest or stereotyping me and discriminated me the way he was talking to me. I have it all on video it is being uploaded to YouTube. I will put a link...
Read moreWe were shopping for Blundstone boots for my daughter, and initially could not find anyone who worked there to help us in the shoe department. I approached 2 people before someone would help. My daughter was finally able to try on the boots and loved them. However, the only one in her size was the display model, and both boots had scuffs and scratches on them. I asked the sales person if we could get a discount since they were not perfect. She consulted a manager, and told us no. I showed her several scratches and scuffs on both boots, and she approached the manager again. (who totally ignored us and was speaking only to her in hushed tones, no eye contact with the customer, trying to pretend we did not exist.) I approached the manager so I could show him the flaws. He flat out stated he did not see anything wrong with the boots, even after I showed him several blemishes. He stated, "looks like a perfect pair of boots to me". Well, they were definitely not "perfect". The worst customer service EVER!!!!!!! For a $220 pair of boots! I found them online cheaper directly from Blundstone. And I'm sure they will not come pre-scratched and...
