Planet Fitness — Attraction in Lake Elsinore

Honestly going here felt nice. I've been to 24 hour fitness a few times in the past, but never had I ever before last night had I stepped get in ' Planet Fitness. While don't really hear much about either. I only hear neutral to less than good from PF. Going to this one was really nice. I've never been to one before and for it to be as neat as it was made me feel welcomed, which helped clear my mind to just focus on myself.

Mentality: Their "no gymtimidation" policy sounds funny on the surface, but when you read it you realize it makes sense. If you're just wanting to go somewhere to help better yourself, it brings more mental comfort. A lot of people who want to go to the gym tend to avoid it because of stigma surrounding it. You get scared of some of the patrons. This place felt different. Felt better. Didn't feel pressured to do anything.

Staff: The staff was also friendly and answered some silly questions I had, which was nice.

Workout machines: The machines I used seemed a lot "cleaner" overall. They didn't seem to have any damage and didn't look like they'd break and hurt me if I breathed on them wrong. No. These were sturdy. For your sake, no, I've never been hurt by a machine before. Some just looked and seemed like they would.

Price: $25? I've only really gotten word of their "black card" which from what I know is the highest tier that they offer. It comes with a good bit of benefits, including being able to bring a plus one / friend or buddy. Though they also have to sign up. It's entirely free for your friend as long as they go with you. I'll learn more about their stuff the more I go there. If $25 is the highest price for one month here, compared to 24H- which was a lot higher price in an environment I didn't really want to return to, it's like an offer I wouldn't turn down.

In summary: Clean environment with a general dress code is in place that helps fight bad gym stigma. The machines were a lot nicer and well maintained. Staff seem helpful and friendly. Highest price is $25 and you get to bring a +1 with you for no extra charge.

All in all, I feel a 5* for this place is in order. I am certainly going to return very soon when my body decides to not be so sore. I'm very tired as I write this, so please excuse me if some of the stuff I write...

As a customer (at the moment), I am including my review in hopes that it will improve the service not only for me but for others as well. It is very clear that the staff is far too young, lacking experience and knowledge of the facility, and is a direct reflection of the training they have received...or lack there of. My experience began a month prior to your opening when I called for more information regarding the plans and had a young girl on the phone who was laughing the entire time she was speaking with me. I experienced what the pf in N. CA was like and decided to go ahead and sign up for this one. A young man helped me sign up if that is what you want to call that. He provided no info. No tour, no explanation of plans, just "sign here" multiple times. I returned once alone and was a good experience. However, my second time I brought my daughter as a guest. A young girl says she needs to see her id. I explain she is 15, no id. She proceeds to say she needs a school id. At which time I indicate she does home schooling. She tells me she needs an id for your system. I inform her that the North. CA loc. Is not that way and she says that is because you are a franchise. Mind you I drove 20 minutes to get there only to turn around and leave. I call on my way home and ask for a mgr. And the young girl who helped me, tells me she is the manager...whoa! I ask if there is any way around this id issue because I just assume cancel after 1 time if this is how it is and she says yes there is a form you can complete and I was going to tell you that but you left. I am sorry but she absolutely should not be a manager. She lacks the experience, customer service and quite frankly the conflict resolution needed to perform this task. I sincerely hope I do not experience anything else such as this again, otherwise I have full intention on cancelling...

I used to go to planet fitness for many years even during Covid during mask mandate but I noticed Every time during that time that I was trying to build my lungs back up because I had severe lung damage from Covid and it seemed like every time I would get on the treadmill they were spraying chemicals around each machine with like bug sprayers and I was trying to heal so I purchased my treadmill at home. The solution cannot be worse then the problem, those chemicals that were being sprayed was worse then covid itself. At the time I did say something but I do not know if anything was done . Also the other day I went in and asked some questions , the man I spoke with was very polite and helpful, one is why cannot people pay in cash there monthly fee, it is a little discriminatory for those who do not have a bank card, I think that they should reconsider the chemicals they spraying if they still are maybe with a natural alternative such as apple cider vinegar kills bacteria but it won’t kill your lungs and also consider taking cash, not everyone is the same and to not take cash cuts a lot of people out, it is not right let the cash paying customers come, I believe this would be the right thing to do.
