Today I woke up early morning with what I knew was a āutiā urinary tract infection. Iām on vacation in Lake Geneva so I called my doctor to see if I could get a prescription sent to the Walgreens near my hotel. I got a call that the script was sent from the doctor and another call- a computerized call hours later from Walgreens stating they were having trouble filling the script because I had new insurance, but my order should be ready at 2 PM. Around 2 PM another call that it was as ready. I waited in line at pick up - 6 People deep- I was the 7th person to see a tech with long dark hair telling me that I needed to go to another window - 2 windows down the aisle. Another line and wait-no bench or chair. Did I mention that Iām handicapped and use a cane ? The lady took my information and after 10 minutes standing there- she said it would be $ 1.92 with my new insurance and I could peruse the store until my name was called which I did and then go to the pick up counter. My name was called and I went up to the pick up counter just as I had seen the women ahead of me do to pick up my prescription and said who I was and that my name was called on the intercom. The same lady with long dark hair - the tech- said I can not help you- you have to wait in the line to the side- 6 People deep again !! My husband helped me by the time it was 4 People deep and waited in line while I sat on a chair off to side thank heavens for that. When he got to the head of the line - I came up and gave my name and asked for my prescription - exhausted, tired, crabby, and sick- needing my antibiotic. I told the tech- -a different one this time that I was upset. Yes, I was made to wait- stand in line multiple times, only once where there was a chair if my husband kept my spot in the pick up line. I did say I was pissed- I usually never use that language. I said that their store was not handicapped friendly. Good thing my husband had helped me keep my place in line for my 4th wait in line. The tech had me try to put my phone number in a broken machine that would not accept my number. She then asked for my birthdate as another form of ID only after flippantly commenting- ā Donāt you know your own phone number?ā I was livid. I told her that her machine did not work and how unhappy I was with this Walgreens treatment of someone who is handicapped and not feeling well. The pharmacist apologized, but too little, too late. I was exhausted, sick, hurting from standing so long and inconsolable. I will NEVER go to this Walgreens again- never. I put up with so much only because I needed my prescription. This Walgreens is NOT handicap friendly at all except for the handicap parking spot. When you enter this Walgreens, you are at their mercy. Donāt dare sit down at the pick up counter or you will never get your prescription!!! Terrible experience. And I do not get upset often. This could all have been avoided if the tech would have accepted my insurance info at the pick up pharmacy register or I was informed on the phone at the start about where to turn this information in. And if they had seating at the window where you turn in your insurance information. And if there was some place where a handicapped person could sit and not lose their spot in line at the pick up counter. This is disgraceful. I should have rated you a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe male manager that was working 10/19 3rd shift at around midnight is completely awful and treated us so poorly. We had an emergency run to get diapers which is a 20 minute drive for us, and of course you guys ādonāt have enough employees to be openā so you close your store down (I donāt even know how any Walgreens is allowed to do that after working for Walgreens for 4 years) So we desperately go to the pharmacy drive through where the manager is called to help us get diapers. Immediately after asking him he screams āthey wonāt fitā Iām sorry what? A small pack of diapers wonāt fit through the drive thru window? Funny thing is Iāve had to do this once before and had NO issue. So after going back and forth and screaming at my husband and I, he finally apologized and grabbed the diapers. Are we being for real right now? We are here with a newborn and two toddlers at midnight, we obviously have a reason for being here this late. Weāre not asking for a pack of cigarettes or something. How can you be so cold? If itās an inconvenience for you to have to help us in pharmacy, maybe follow protocol and get more employees. Or do what we did and manage the store and check our guests. We had many nights where it was just us in pharmacy and the manager working. We were never allowed to close the entire store down no matter what time. Something needs to change. Iām also going to be contacting corporate about this because you guys should be open 24 hours if youāre 24 hours. No excuses.
And no employee there has a right to speak down to somebody, especially not a manager. Youāve got nothing better to do because you have an empty store because you choose to stay closed.
Be kind, and do your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked into the store and was immediately approached by faculty. By "approached" I mean chased down the hallway to where I was going as the team member was screaming "can I help you find anything" I eventually realized she was talking to me so I turned and said no.. (it's walgreens I was buying sunscreen and snacks?) and turned around. She kept yelling ACROSS the hall and said, "I can check you guys out when you're done". When she said this I turned around and said, "of course, I know I have to check out. I'm not stealing it". Might just be me but that's customers are told when suspected to be shoplifting. Considering I wasn't even carrying a purse, (I only carry a small wallet) Where was I supposed to smuggle a boxed sunscreen and a large bag of almonds? The lady kept following us through the store and eventually when I checked out, no thank you, no greeting. So evident that my sister( who looks nothing like me, fair skin and light hair) noticed it and made fun of the fact that she fit in and was greeted and thanked unlike me even though we are both Mexican. So yeah, if your hair and skin is of different shade, prepare to be racially...
