MOD Pizza — Restaurant in Lake Geneva

Normally I enjoy this place, but its quality has declined significantly, and I just had a terrible experience with them today, which is reflective of my rating. My wife stopped to grab pizzas around 5:20pm, only to find out the store was not accepting in-person orders, and they close at 6:00. I tried to place an order online around 5:30, and the website would ‘t allow it, saying an error had occurred. So we called to place an order over the phone, and our call was redirected three times before we finally got in touch with someone. The person who picked up, Ken, the manager, first told me that the online orders “are working fine,” and said I must be doing something wrong. When I confirmed I did everything right, he declined to take an order over the phone, saying it just couldn’t be done, and it was too much work. He then proceeded to yell at me when I asked to confirm that this was actually the case; that trying to order 40 minutes ahead of time in 3 different ways would not be acceptable. Went there at 4pm; not a busy time. Was overwhelmed by the shouting of "HELLO" from every one of the employees. There were 14 behind the counter, 2 more in back and 1 leaving while another coming in. Got to counter and there were 5 people that garnished my pizza... FIVE! They were taking amongst themselves and not paying attention to me, the customer. I was told that my garlic sticks couldn't have cheese on them because the person who was working on them already put it back on the counter to be put in the oven. Thankfully, one of the other employees was happy to put some on there. My husband's pizza didn't have the spicey sausage on it and mine was burnt. The bottom was completely black and I ended up throwing the majority of it out bc I picked around it.

I work in customer service. I RARELY don't give 5 stars. This experience was so offputting from the moment we walked in until we left. It's too loud, the staff is clearly inexperienced and unprofessional, and my food was ruined.

A few months ago, I started going to this Mod pizza location, and unfortunately, I’ve had a consistently frustrating experience. The listed hours on Google and Maps say they’re open until a certain time, but they regularly close 3 to 4 hours earlier without notice. Every time I’ve tried to stop by during their posted hours, the doors are locked, and the staff either ignores me, refuses to open the door, or simply says, “These are our hours,” with no explanation or concern.

Today, I decided to call ahead to make sure they were actually open before wasting another trip. Someone answered the phone, and when I asked to confirm the store was open, she said, “Let me ask,” and then hung up on me.

It’s incredibly unprofessional to operate a business like this, ignoring posted hours and treating customers as if their time doesn’t matter. I hope management takes this seriously and makes some changes, because this has been an ongoing issue that makes MOD Pizza Lake Geneva feel unreliable and dismissive of...
