Park 559 is what I call a "Pocket Park" on the Chicago Lakefront. It is a pocket of peace set among the many highrise buildings on Sheridan Road. The tiny "Park" occupies the space that would accommodate one high rise. Highrises tower on either side. This is just a small green space with a few benches. It's only real purpose is to sit for a bit while gathering your thoughts and contemplating the Lake. During bird migratory season you are likely to see a crane or another bird catching his or her breath while flying somewhere else. People often launch paddleboards from the rocky shore. A lot of people walk their dogs in the park. Most are courteous and respectful of others but there are always a few who don't clean up afterwards or who don't leash their dogs.
