This place has some of the most consistently incompetent service I've ever experienced. Since it's one of the only neighborhood options, we've given them far too many chances (about 30 take out orders over 4 months), before finally deciding never to go back. Pizzas ordered with a relatively simple request of "no onions" have onions more than 50% of the time and have to be remade. When I pointed out this shockingly high failure rate to one of the managers, she simply said "I'm so sorry..." crickets... (the appropriate response would have been SOME OFFER of a discounted next order, complimentary pizza, or at least dessert on the house, but again, they are utterly clueless here and no nothing about customer service). Pizza pick up time estimates are usually twice as long as they tell you (they promise 30 minutes, but we've waited as long as 75). On the occasion immediately following the 75 minute wait time, I told the person who took the order about the experience. He transferred me to a manager who swore our pizza would be ready in 27 minutes... it took 50 minutes. Ordering food to dine in has been equally horrendous. A meatball sub was so foul tasting that it was completely inedible. Upon returning it, wanting to make the manager aware that the meat was likely tainted, he apologized, but needed to be prompted into offering a refund. The counter staff (while friendly) dont have any sense of urgency, so ordering a slice of pizza will usually result in them ringing up the order (and the orders of the next several people in line) before it occurs to them to put your slice in the oven. The final straw was last week, when I attempted to order a Cold Roast Beef Sub 15 minutes before the place closed and was told "Sorry. I've already cleaned...
Read morePete's Pizza is good, the establishment just needs to train their employees to be mindful and to stop being rude, in my opinion. As I walked to the door tonight, an employee, who was mopping, literally threw her arms down and groaned at the sight of me approaching. The other employee taking the order was mumbling so low that I sincerely couldn't hear him, and he laughed at me when I misunderstood him and felt the need to recant my previous statement to me, and not what he actually mumbled. I also needed to bag my own pizza and beverages, he did very graciously put at least one beverage in my bag, though. As well, they do not make eye contact and sometimes behave like your presence in the restaurant is causing them discomfort. The customer service here is just often so hit and miss, and when it is a miss, the employees can be so outright rude and stand offish. It's honestly less mental effort just going to places like Pizza Mania or Gino's or anywhere else the employees don't treat you like they're upset with you. I've been going here for a while, and whenever there is a rude shift I just deal with it of course, but tonight was extra tiring. Pete's pretty please provide better customer service to your employees. And for anyone wondering, I literally watched them ignore at least one phone call, if you've dealt...
Read morePete's Pizza is so good I never write reviews but I am compelled to write this as I am eating it right now. I started coming here when I moved like two buildings away and I am so happy I live so close to Pete's. I probably come here two times a week and I doubt it will ever get old. The deep dish here is really good it is definitely up to par with Chicago deep dish. The thin crust - just as good. The cheese goes all the way to the edges and the sauce is slightly sweet I love it (side of ranch is the way to go). They have a wide variety of pasta dishes as well. The alfredo is a bit pricey ($12.95 I think) but it is so incredibly worth it. The portion is gigantic and it comes with a salad and baguette. They have a lasagna special on Tuesday's; it's a giant piece of amazing lasagna, side salad, and bread for $6.75... that is amazing for a college student like me. They have many other awesome specials throughout the week (half priced apps on Tuesday as well). They have shakes too and they're so good and well priced I'm a big fan. The interior has ample seating options and in warmer months they have a large patio with lights and music. I love this place and if you are reading reviews to decide whether or not to go...
