First time here was great (but). Food was well cooked. I ordered swedish pancakes lingon berries with A LA CARTE hashbrowns, coffee and cinnamon buns. The waiter was awesome. He had a comb over I think. And pretty tall. He told me that my dish didnt come with a side so I'd have to order from a la carte. No biggie. But also said to be mindful that it would be much larger than a side dish. I told him that's great. I really want as much hash browns as I can get I hear they taste good. I was very happy to see I got a generous dish of hashbrowns for 4 bucks quite fair actually. The 2nd time I came I had a diffrent waiter. I ordered waffles and everything else the same. I only got half the hash browns from last time. I only came for those. I was pretty bummed out but I didnt say anything. Dont wanna come off annoying. The third time I came I had the same 2nd waiter. Never saw the first guy again. This time when I ordered hashbrowns I was hoping for the best but ended up getting even less than the half of what I got the 2nd time. I was pretty upset...i was getting the same amount as my friends who had dishes that came with hashbrowns. The fourth time I came 4 months later. I asked the waiter about my first experience how I was told I'd get much more. He looked with disapproval and didnt give me much a answer. So i said ill just order two orders and as long as I get alot I'll be happy. He said no problem. But I still got a smaller portion than ever. And the 5th time was the absolute smallest ever. It didnt even fill the small plate they gave me and my friends dishes that came with sides had baby tea cup sized hashbrowns. Huge disappointment. I tipped fairly and I cleaned up after my self as always and put away my dishes nice and neat on the table. Is it the chefs fault? Most likely. Or the waiter probably not. The owners being cheap?!?!?!?! Did I also mention how disgusting my water tasted. The second cup of water I drank was awful. I left with a sour taste in my mouth. Are they giving customers dirty tap water?! I grew up poor and I'm not a picky high class person at all. The water was disgusting. And the hash browns not only were the smallest but didnt taste as good. Also my food was room temperature the 5th time. Add another swedish pancakes so thin and you charge 10 dollars for three paper ones. Sorry Ann sathers but I just cant come back to you guys anymore. Maybe in summer of 2020 I'll give it...
Read moreI'm satisfied with the food, but they can't seem to get my takeout orders right. I told the cashier I was placing three individual orders but I was going to pay for them all together with my credit card. I placed two separate orders of pancakes with sausage and one order of 5 eggs with 5 sausages. Instead of them putting the sausage that I ordered with the pancakes, and the sausage with the eggs, they gave me one container with all 11 sausages together, and instead of them giving me the 5 eggs that I ordered, they only gave me 3. I always order extra eggs and extra sausages when I order for myself. When I got home I noticed that I didn't have the amount of eggs that I would normally get. It looked as if I had 3 eggs instead of 5. I called the restaurant immediately to find out why I didn't get the amount of eggs that I ordered. The manager said he's sorry and that they would do better the next time. He never said he would give me the 2 eggs when I return to the restaurant or whenever I place my next order. So I lost money on something I paid for without being reimbursed. So I told the manager you just lost a customer. I spend 40 to 50 dollars every time I go to Ann Sather restaurant so I figured that I should have been treated like a valued customer. The manager had no intention of correcting the problem or treating me with the respect...
Read moreI've only ever had their coffee, cinnamon rolls, and other pastries. Today I was there for a light breakfast of coffee and a muffin after many months of having to stay away, like everyone else, on account of Covid. I had the bottomless coffee with a delicious, warm muffin (served by such a lovely waitress, who told me it was her mother's favorite), and looked out the window at the passers-by, and things were almost back to normal for a half hour or so... I also took home a brownie, which is the real thing: moist on the inside, as a brownie should be. It was lovely all around. UPDATE November 25, 2021 I had my Thanksgiving lunch there today ($26.85 + tax, which is very reasonable) and was served by Paddie. I am not exaggerating when I say that everything was perfect. The food was perfect in quantity and in quality: A bowl of delicious chicken soup, a large plateful of turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, asparagus, their famous cinnamon roll and two pieces of their other in-house made cakes, apple pie topped with whipped cream... Everything was simply delicious. Paddie's service was outstanding. The ambiance was casual and welcoming, yet so professional. To say that I had a marvelous time is not overstating it. Happy...
