This is a true hidden gem in Lakeland! Really enjoyed all the events of recent. Starting with Swan Lake from Russian Ballet Orlando. Even for a summer intensive program it was still wonderful. Even had a near disaster with one of the Swans (Corps) but she recovered and never missed a beat! The classic films are definitely my thing! As a TCM -a-holic, which no longer gets it (moved to free streaming) getting these on the big screen is great! My one and only nit pick on these. Some of these are way way to new for my definition of "classic." Which is limited to '30's to 70's. I hope there are more of these classic nights. And I'd like to see some of the FULL Dinner & a movie nights with them. I am sure the current craziness has impacted that. Overall the biggest headache is parking. Much like the St. Pete Opera which has limited parking, its even more so in Lakeland regardless of the event. Not sure how that is solved in the location, but it is something to be aware. Looking forward to the upcoming Guys & Dolls, and the RBO Esmeralda and Nutcracker! So keep them ballets coming! And bring on more classic (30-60's) movies! And more great acts.. hint Darci Lynn Farmer &...
Read moreI gave up my Saturday nite card game for this. Sure I've seen 3/4 of the movies. But none at a movie theatre...and what a movie theatre. Can't wait to see the Maltese Falcon. Had a neighbor that saw it on a Sunday matinee in '41...and they interrupted the movie to inform everyone of the Pearl Harbor attack. Finally, the movie admission is only $5. A large popcorn is $4. It's 10.99 at a mall movie nearby. Hot dogs and large sodas are $3. And...you can't put a price on the ambiance. My brother and I left one quiet nite after watching a 60s movie and both of us said it was like a time travel trip on the way back to our car. We both felt it. Great people there as well. You can't lose. I've become a member...you should too. Dr. Dennis Morrison, retired...
Read moreLocated right along Route 37 in Lakeland, easily seen from the road. Very nice old theater, beautifully decorated. Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. Temperature was fine, not too warm or too cold. Small concession stand selling popcorn, hot dogs and soft pretzels, as well as, water, coke, diet coke, sprite, beer and wine. Seating was comfortable, aisles were roomy. Other patrons were friendly. Restroom is on second floor up some stairs. My only (small) complaints were: I wish there was clarity as to where to park and I wish there were more soda options. Regardless, we had a great time seeing a Led Zeppelin tribute band (I hope I'm using the correct term). They were really good. Our time at the theater was a...
