Office Depot — Attraction in Lakewood

Whenever I enter the store I am always greeted by at least one worker, if not multiples. I've been coming to this location for years and I have never had a bad experience. I really want to point out how great their printing department is, in January 2023 my dad passed away and I had to take care of everything that a funeral would entail. I put in an online order for memory keepsakes of pictures of my father and pamphlets for the funeral and on my computer they had looked fine but I got a call one they were printed by a man, who I think is a manager, I forget his name, but he called to tell me that everything had printed out all dark and you coudln't see the photo of my father's face. It was very obvious to the employee that these were for a funeral so he said I could submit new photos. I assumed I would be paying again, and was willing to do so but they printed the new ones for me for free and printed off a large poster for free without me asking that i also brought to the funeral. They had gone above and beyond for me and the kindness I experienced brought me to tears in the store.

Another amazing thing the employees have done for me is I had put in an online order and for whatever reason only half of the order had gone through. I was stressed out and worried because I did not have time to go home and make another order but the employee, I believe his name was Edwin said if I had them on my phone I could send an e-mail and he would print them off for me right then and there.

I did just that and he printed them off for me so I was able to finish my errands without having to go home. I really appreciate the employees of this store, I would say out of all the stores in the lakewood towne center that I shop in the employees at this store are always so kind and helpful and go out of their way to help you and I do not experience that in other stores. I went to the Lakewood Depot today 8-5-2019. I was horribly treated by not only customer service but by the store manager who felt that the only one to blame was me. I went to the print department to ask to have a label made for a business letter I was mailing. there was only one other customer and the associate was helping her. The print department employee never once asked me what I needed. I was completely ignored. When other customers came for help the employee called for another employee to help them. when the helper asked me what I wanted, I told him. He said he couldn't do it and that I would have to wait for the employee I had already been waiting on. The employee began telling people he could not provide the service I had asked for and then even handed me the receipt of another customer that he had just helped. This embarrassed me to say the least. I must have waited at least twenty minutes. I was the first in line but never received any help. Then when the employee finished with the employee she had been helping, she deliberately went to help some one who had just come in and ignored me even though she knew I was waiting. At that point I left the the store because the store employees had humiliated so much. I came back to speak to the store manager about what they had done and he felt that they hadn"t done anything wrong which would imply that I deserved to be treated that way. hope that you will watch the servailence video. I figure that with in the last five years I have spent between six to seven hundred dollars at that lakewood Office Depot but, I will never come to that store again NO THANK...

I know some reviews are bad and some reviews are good. Reality of the situation is this a people business. Some people love what they do and provide superior service and a few people just want to collect a check. I have been shopping in this location for over 20 years (they used to be in a different building before they down sized in the towne center) and that’s what you get. Why I am writing a review is because their new store manager Michael. About 7/8 years ago he used to be the assistant manager. I was surprised to see him back about 6 months ago when I was just receiving the worst service I have had in this location. Michael stepped right in, made things right and made me feel valued. Michael is the change this store needed. Your right, compared to amazon and a lot of other big box stores Office Depot is higher in price for some items but what you get in this store is customer service. That is worth extra bucks in my book. All I have to say is if you have a bad experience, take down that associates name and call Michael. I assure you he will make it right and hold that associate accountable. Give this location a chance. They have earned my...
