L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Lakewood

This is the first review I am writing, and I want to say that I love this place very much! However, there is a very clear reason why I am left it as a four out of five rating.

First of all, the food is impeccable. I love how fast the workers are here, the beverages, the food- everything. Even when the place gets swamped with people, this team is able to hammer out whatever comes to them and makes it swift.

All of the workers here are sweet except for one person who has unfortunately served me multiple times. She is a young woman, short, wearing a grey jacket for this time that she served me. Since the time that she has worked here, I have never had a pleasant encounter with her. She glared the whole time I placed my order (including at my friend who also ordered), muttered under her breath about how my friend should just purchase the whole meal instead of one thing, and then rolled her eyes when I said thank you.

I have also watched her do the same thing to multiple customers, and it irritates me enough where I won’t be coming back any time soon during the evening. I don’t want to be here at all when this girl is being so disrespectful to someone who...

This was a pleasant surprise! We're not terribly familiar with Hawaiian food, but the people at the counter were helpful with suggestions. We ended up with both a kalua pork and a mixed BBQ platter. The servings were HUGE. The pork really shone - it didn't look particularly special, but it turned out to be super tender, smokey and spiced deliciously. The combo of the pork and cabbage worked really nicely.

You order at the counter and pick up when your number is called. They've got several different soy blends and sauces to the side - you can either put some into a little container or bring the whole bottle to your table.

If I were to have one nitpick about the place, it would be that their menu (above the registers) is a just little cluttered and difficult to read for a noob. There aren't many explanations of the dishes, so I recommend either checking the website beforehand, or grabbing a paper menu to peruse and figure out what you'd like. ...

I've never been somewhere that when they mess up the order, they take the entire plate of food back. We have a 2 year old that we share our food with. The wait for food was already long. I can only assume they reused the food that was incorrect.....even though some of it was eaten. That is disgusting. Any respectable place would simply cook up a side of the mistake & let you & your child continue to eat rather than take it all back & do who knows what with it.

I will not feel comfortable eating from here & wondering if the food I'm eating has already been served to someone & then brought back.

*Revised after talking to someone there: if the food is served & returned within 10 minutes they reuse it. Doesn't that break some sort of health code!!???! Once he told her that we ate from that plate then ooohhh sure they probably threw it away. I wonder how many used plates I've eaten over the years of eating there.
