This organization has shut down more public hunting areas then any other public land group I know of in Pennsylvania. Almost all of the properties Lancaster Conservancy aquired were open to the public for hunting for decades. These properties were well out of safety zone specifications listed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. When I've asked the Lancaster Conservancy why they shut down so many areas to hunting they answer "there's lots of huntable areas. Look on our maps." I've poured over their maps and visited the areas. Next to no areas are open to firearm hunting. Only archery only. For a duck hunter and rifle deer hunter that's not suitable. I'm sad to see more of Lancaster county's public lands end up under this groups control every year. I wish the Pennsylvania Game Commision would buy them and allow ALL hunting and public access.
