This was our 2nd international food tour w/ Unique Lancaster Experiences. We had such a great time in 2024, we decided to do it again. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the owner, Kendra, would be our host. New for us was our 1st stop, Chellas Arepa Kitchen which recently opened & named after the owners grandmother. We had fresh arepas w/dipping sauces made from fresh ingredients, also Sahara Bistro Shawarma where we had shawarma w/rice which was very flavorful topped w/a pink Middle Eastern pickled veggie, very good. Bareret Bistro & Bakery was a treat, we had fresh croissants w/a sweet filling. 2 people wanted savory & opted for the spinach & cheese which they said was delicious. We also sampled fresh olive oilās & vinegars, fine teas & freshly made ice cream. Each establishment has a story behind it & Kendra has formed such a great rapport w/the owners that theyāre willing to share w/us. She chatted w/ each group on our tour to make us comfortable. Kendra is AWESOME!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
2024 Post The International Food Tour was a last minute idea for something to fill our Saturday for our weekend stay in the Lancaster area. This is a must do tour. Our tour guide Mabel is one of the friendliest, sweetest and knowledgeable individuals that Iāve met. She enjoys ALL people and ALL foodsššš She introduced and educated us on many immigrant business owners and their journey to Lancaster and we were able to taste some of the foods that have helped make their businesses successful. We tried a Pakistanian cuisine that was to die for, an empanada that was out of this world, we tasted the freshest olive oils and balsamic vinegars from Spain, we sampled an Italian panini made with fresh baked bread, we enjoyed a raspberry cookies & cream ice cream followed by a South African tea that has been said to have healing properties. This is a great tour to experience foods and people from different cultures and I canāt say enough about Mabel our tour guideā¦Incredible young woman. I definitely will be sharing my experience with other family members and friends so they can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I had an amazing time with Kendra on the International Food Tour. She was so personable and friendly! We had a couple who was late for the tour and she made sure to be mindful for those of us who were on time while still trying to make every effort to accommodate the late couple. If you havenāt explored the city of Lancaster, this is a great way to see the non-Amish side of Lancaster. We tried foods from all around the world and had the opportunity to hear from some of the chefs on how they got to America and/or why they started their business. Not only is Kendra extremely knowledgeable in the food scene but she also taught us about some of the immigrant/minority history that we were passing while walking to the different locations! The trip was super organized and everyone had their food ready for us when we arrived! Kendra makes a point to connect with each and every individual on the tour and thatās what really helps to make the tour even more enjoyable! If you are looking for a unique and fun experience, you should definitely book a tour with Kendra - you will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have never been to Downtown Lancaster so we decided to do a tour to see the area. We booked the international Food Tour and were not disappointed. Our tour guide, Mable, who was 'international' herself - from England - took our group of six to 5 different food establishments to try foods/drink all from different nationalities. We didn't realize Lancaster is so diverse until Mable gave us a little history about the city and each business/owners' journey. She was very knowledgeable, personable and kept us engaged. Keep in mind this is a WALKING tour - you WILL get your steps in and walk off most of what you eat, which was enough that we didn't have to eat dinner that night! Different nationalities we visited were South American, Middle Eastern, South African, Asian and unfortunately, cannot remember the last one - but know there is a some German descent there somewhere. Mable also recommended some additional places to try during our stay and didn't steer us wrong. Thanks Mable for a great afternoon!! ...
