My partner and I have eaten a lot of Thai food, and we have frequented many different Thai restaurants in places that have high Asian population density. We ordered the Massamun curry and Yellow curry at this place, and unfortunately both did not satisfy. Most of the vegetables were undercooked: my fork couldn’t go through the potatoes, the carrots were half raw, and the baby corn was 70% raw. The curry had more sugar than curry paste, and tasted like fruit juice. The portion we received was not proportional to the price we paid, and certainly not worth the quality.
When I mentioned to the waiter that my vegetables were undercooked, she brought my bowl away and eventually brought it back with slightly less curry than I had before. It became apparent that they had probably just microwaved the bowl, because the potatoes on the edge of the bowl were slightly more crumbly, whereas the potatoes in the middle of the curry were still uncooked.
It was also clear that none of the veggies were cooked in the curry, because none of them had absorbed the flavor of the curry.
The only saving grace was the Thai iced tea, which I found to be of an appropriate sweetness; I don’t like my Thai iced tea obnoxiously sweet. But we received small glasses that were about half the size of what I have received at other restaurants for the same price, and the glass was filled with...
Read moreCame here for dinner with my wife. I ordered the Drunken Noodles and asked for them "as hot as you can make it" and my wife ordered one of the soups (can't remember which one). For drinks I got the boba tea and she got jasmine tea.
The Drunken Noodles tasted pretty good, but the portion size was hands-down the smallest I've ever received at dozens of Thai restaurants I've visited up and down the east coast. Spice level was mild, so either the waiter didn't write down my request, the chef was sarcastic, or this place is the mildest Thai restaurant I've ever visited.
My Boba Tea was another disappointment. 70% ice in a small cup, yet I paid $4 for it? I remember getting Boba Tea's in college for that price that contained twice (maybe even 3 times) the actual drink for that price.
My wife was not impressed with her soup, which was made with what were obviously Ramen noodles. Ironically the couple sitting next to us had ordered the same soup and they were equally disappointed from what I could hear.
On the plus side, her Jasmine tea was excellent and the personal carafe it was served in was charming.
Probably won't go back. Just not worth the high prices for the miniscule...
Read moreWe were originally heading for a different restaurant in Lancaster for dinner on a recent Friday night, but found out they had closed. So we were downtown looking for options and happened to spot this establishment. We enjoy Thai, as well as other Asian types (Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, etc...) so we decided to give it a try. There were not many people at the restaurant, but it was coming up on 8pm. Between the 3 of us in our party, we tried their Pad Thai, Vegetarian/Tofu Pho, and a Basil Chicken dish. The food was okay, but nothing wonderful or full of flavor. The Pad Thai was probably the best dish at the table. The Basil chicken lacked basil/flavors. It was basically stir-fried chicken & vegetables without much flavor to it. And we've had much better pho at other places. The service here was actually very good, and we like having a BYOB policy. The ambiance was fine, and the restaurant seemed clean. Overall, it's an okay place to go, but there's nothing memorable offered here that makes us want to go back again. There are other much better Thai restaurants with much more...
