Its a pretty park in the downtown attached to the municipal building, they have plenty of seating about 2 acres worth of grass, a stage for shows, and a walk through fountain with fx (lights and squirting patterns) that people can play in. Unfortunately they use a ton of clorine because of children peeing so much. Throughout the spring, summer, & fall there are events from children's to adults. Just don't look across the street at the half demolished building that has been like that for 10 years or the homeless that congregate in the area harassing everyone for money or flipping out on k2. There are signs that state the park is closed after a cetain time but that doesn't apply to the homeless. You can watch them starting to post up around 9-10pm. The closed part only applies to everyone else so they don't see how many homeless are in the city. The sad thing is the Rescue Mission here is only about 25% utilized stating lack of funds. The only reason the city does nothing is because they don't want a solid number publicized, it might blemish the image. Sorry about the rant but city parks are for everyone not just to hide...

Read moreIt's fine, but the homeless in the mini encampment are occasionally bothersome and have on one occasion said something to my wife she when I stopped to confront him, two came to stand there against me and I faced off to them but they backed off. I understand they need to sleep somewhere and if not for the situation, I would actually be okay with him there as women walking on the streets at night would be benefited by their presence as somebody looking to assault them would be less likely but in this situation you may have to worry about the homeless themselves being the one to...
