I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the Wrought Iron Arts blacksmithing and knife making class, and I can confidently say it was nothing short of amazing. If you've ever dreamed of wielding a hammer and creating your own masterpiece, this class is an absolute must! From the moment I entered the forge, I was transported into a world of fire, metal, and boundless creativity. The Master Blacksmith, Rob, not only possesses an incredible skill set but also has an infectious passion for the craft. His enthusiasm made the entire experience even more enjoyable, as he effortlessly balanced fun with imparting invaluable knowledge. As a complete novice in the world of blacksmithing, I was initially nervous about working with such intense tools and materials. However, Rob's expertise and guidance quickly put my concerns at ease. He took the time to explain the fundamentals, patiently answering questions and offering tips along the way. I felt supported throughout the entire process, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the art of blacksmithing. The highlight of the class was undoubtedly the opportunity to create a functional machete. I never imagined that by the end of the session, I would be walking away with a beautifully crafted tool, ready to tackle the challenges of my garden. It was an exhilarating feeling to witness my creation take shape under the guidance of a skilled professional. Not only did I learn the technical aspects of blacksmithing, but I also gained a deep appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship involved. The experience awakened a newfound passion within me, and I am already counting down the days until I can sign up for another class at Wrought Iron Arts. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience that combines education, hands-on learning, and a whole lot of fun, I wholeheartedly recommend Wrought Iron Arts' blacksmithing and knife making class. Whether you're a beginner or have some prior experience, Rob will ensure that you walk away with not only a tangible creation but also a sense of accomplishment and a lasting desire to continue exploring the world of blacksmithing. In summary, my "Forged in Fire" fantasy came true at Wrought Iron Arts. Thanks to the expertise and enthusiasm of Master Blacksmith Rob, I had an absolute blast and left with a functional machete and memories that will last a lifetime. 100% signing up for future classes!

5 Stars! What a “forge-tastic” way to kick off the new year! On January 1, 2025, my wife and I, along with visiting family and friends, took the one-day Knife Making / Blacksmith Class at Wrought Iron Arts in Largo, FL, and it was truly an experience worth every hammer swing. Our instructor, Rob Buck, is a master of metal and an absolute blast to learn from. His patience, enthusiasm, and knack for teaching made everyone—from the novices to the “Forged in Fire” fans—feel right at home. From heating our metal to hammering it out on the anvil, Rob guided us through each step with humor and expertise, all while weaving in stories about the centuries-old craft. It’s hard work, no doubt—you’ll definitely feel the burn in your arms the next day—but you’ll also feel an incredible sense of pride in your creation! And talk about getting the best bang for your Buck (pun completely intended). The value of the class goes way beyond the finished knife (art or tool) you walk away with. It’s the satisfaction of learning a new art form, the laughter shared with loved ones, and the treasured memories of a very hands-on, fire-fueled family outing. If you’re looking to start 2025 with a spark—or you’re just itching to try something new—you can’t beat a day at Wrought Iron Arts. Rob’s 20+ years of experience shine through, and even though we all left as beginners, we came away feeling like forging pros. Don’t miss out on this hot opportunity to learn, laugh, and leave with a piece of metal art that’s all your own!

I was looking for a Christmas present for my son that didn't involve video games or electronics and found this place. He's a big Forged in Fire fan so I reached out to Robert. Responses were quick, and detailed - which are big deals with me - tells me the person I'm dealing with wants to be engaged. We scheduled for Feb because of school/holidays/work. On the day that we showed up Robert had a sign out welcoming us - nice touch - good way to get you in a happy mood. He took the time and explained to my son a brief history of blacksmithing, the metals used etc. It wasn't necessary - but it did make the experience more laid back. There wasn't this whole rushed vibe where we had to get to it now etc. The actual process was really cool. Robert was there assisting, and advising but at no point did he try to take over or do it himself. The knife my son made was 95%his labor and work. It was cool to see a rusty old railroad spike turn into a legit knife. They consulted the drawing my son had made, adjusted and at the end we left with a full day of awesomeness, a very cool knife, and an experience my kid won't soon forget. Video games get beaten, electronics break, but my kid can look at the object he made, use it, and remember this. Invest in this. Get some happiness,, make something awesome, and learn some stuff along the way! I highly recommend Robert and Wrought Iron Arts to anyone that has a desire to step outside of the mall, and do something unique.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a one-day welding class led by the highly skilled and personable instructor, Robert. As an individual with no prior welding experience, I was both apprehensive and excited to delve into the world of molten metal and sparks. However, any uncertainties were swiftly dispelled as Robert's passion for the craft became evident from the moment the class commenced.

Robert's teaching style was a perfect blend of expertise and approachability. His comprehensive knowledge of welding was matched only by his ability to convey complex techniques in an easily understandable manner. Throughout the day, he maintained a perfect balance between theory and hands-on practice, ensuring that I grasped the fundamental concepts before proceeding to the practical aspects.

The class was well-structured, beginning with an insightful introduction to the different types of welding processes, safety protocols, and a breakdown of the tools and materials essential for welding. Robert’s emphasis on safety was commendable; he made sure that I was equipped with the necessary safety gear and thoroughly explained safety procedures before allowing me near the welding stations.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the hands-on practice. Robert guided me through the initial stages with patience, offering attention and constructive feedback. He encouraged me to experiment and learn from my mistakes, fostering an environment where errors were seen as opportunities for growth rather than as failures. His expertise shone through as he effortlessly demonstrated various welding techniques and encouraged me to replicate them.

What truly set Robert apart was his passion for the craft. His enthusiasm was infectious, making the class engaging and inspiring. His anecdotes and real-world examples added depth to the learning experience, showing me how welding transcends the mere joining of metal and instead is an art form in itself.

Robert's approachability and willingness to answer any and all questions made the learning environment comfortable and inclusive. He created a space where I felt encouraged to participate and learn at my own pace.

In just one day, Robert's welding class not only equipped me with the basic skills and knowledge to begin my welding journey but also instilled a newfound appreciation for the artistry and precision required in this craft. The experience was not just about learning a new skill but about being inspired by an instructor who is not just a master welder but also a remarkable teacher.

I wholeheartedly recommend Robert's welding class to anyone interested in learning the art of welding. His expertise, passion, and teaching style make for an unforgettable and...
