Lakeside Weddings & Events — Attraction in Las Vegas

My wedding was Dec 2nd of 2024. It was ok. Just ok. The only regret my husband and I have from our wedding day is the venue. We rushed into picking this venue and in the end definitely some regret.For the same money we paid Lakeside we could have done Revere weddings and had a much better non rushed wedding. I feel like lakeside could have definitely done better on these things so here is my list…

They sell an “all inclusive dream wedding package which looks great on the outside but when you really sit and see what’s being offered all the all inclusive stuff is very ‘Mid’ and not nice. We chose this venue because of All inclusive and had to end up getting all our own Decor/florals/center piece, photographer and videographer. TBH I wished we got our own DJ also (more on that later on). Happy we did get our own photographer as I read the comments on the photographer and packages lakeside offer and I’m so happy we got our own! Dj was given a list of music, he stuck to what he knows and is comfortable with instead of practicing the list given in advance and getting familiar with other culture music. If you are cultured and want afrobeats and reggae or dancehall do yourself a favor and get your own DJ! The timing of everything it gave Vegas drive thru wedding as everything was rushed even the rehearsal the day before. No time to take still family photos was included in our day until we begged for 30 minutes after ceremony to do it. And that wasn’t enough time so we did go to a nice park prior to the wedding to get most of our family photos. Brides if you use this venue do yourself a favor and do a first look elsewhere and get all your nice still photos before as you will not have time to once ceremony starts. This saved our wedding honestly. Being able to not feel rushed while taking photos. God forbid you show up to your rehearsal late you may not have any time to rehearse. This was us.. I felt like a little bit more understanding could have been used in those aspect. We bearly got a 10 minute run though and that was that needless to say my bridesmaid and groomsmen did mess up the entrance because it was not practiced enough Wedding day only the coordinator was present not sure where Angelia was or why she or someone else couldn’t lend a helping hand to coordinate. Coordinator Marbelit did good for it just being her. Not sure why it was only 1 person assisting on the wedding day.. maybe there was a call out that day but it definitely gave short staffed. Even though we took pictures of how the tables in the reception space should have been set up and sent this big package outlining what was supposed to be it was not followed and actually was set up wrong before we saw it and we had to rush to fix it We asked for 1 specific cake design they said they offered and could do! Then on the day of the wedding I saw they ended up giving us the basic cake design they gave everyone LOL this was also specifically outlined in our huge pdf we put together of all details. I was very upset at the amount of favors that was left for my husband and I to take home.. as a wedding venue who does weddings a lot and is located in Vegas why wasn’t there a table for favors so that guest can take the favors as they leave rather than have them on the tables they eat the candy and leave the sentimental piece behind for the trash.. this is what happened to us. We never wanted our favors to be on the tables with the guests it was meant to be taken at the end to avoid wastage. Another thing they messed up on was we did make a change to our food choices we originally said white rice but then we switched to fried rice that change was somehow never made and we got stuck with the white rice somehow idk We are still not their instagram page. (Sorry for the long review but if you're anything like me, you want the whole scoop) The wedding itsself was almost perfect. Our wedding day was July 30th. We went with the Royal Waterfall option, which was perfect for the small intimate wedding we were looking to have.  It was a little hard in the beginning emailing back and forth with our initial coordinator Angelina about everything that may be added or included with the package, especially when we had to have everything together before we even got our day of coordinator, so we did our own research. We also decided to go directly with Lakeside Flowers for our flowers so that we were sure we got what we wanted and we had flowers that fit our style and budget. When we were looking at lakeside brochure options for flowers they didn't have anything that caught our eye and the flower decor options for the outside arch was too expensive for what they were giving. When we went to the flower shop we got flowers for the outside arch as well as flowers for 4 table centerpieces, a box of rose petals and our sweartheart table for less than what we would have gotten just the center Gazebo Topper option for the Royal Garden. The price for that Gazebo topper was crazy expensive it was nice and it had alot of flowers BUT they are bunched in one area and we were looking to have our flowers spread around the arch. I'm so happy we went directly with the flower shop because we were able to cut out the middle person and customize our flower package to what we wanted and we were extremely happy with it. We were literally about to settle for no flowers for the arch and the basic silk flowers that come with the package for our table centerpieces but I'm glad we didn't. I also want to mention that our initial coordinator tried emailing us to tell us that the ministers fee was $100, when the website and our contract said $75. When we pointed this out she said they have to update the website (which I just checked and it still says $75, even 3 months later) and she said she will tell the minister that he has to honor the $75 because that's what we were told... I did not believe that one bit. Why would you tell someone what they have to charge us for THEIR fee because u said so? (I believe his fee was $75 not $100 and she was trying to get us to pay more) It just didn't make sense and after that, I wanted to double check everything to make sure we weren't being charged extra somewhere. Another reason we went directly with Lakeside flowers and did our own research for everything. Although the extra lighting would have been nice we did our research and found we would be paying too much and for our room size we didn't really need it. I bought alot of stuff from Amazon like the Mr and Mrs letters, tea candles, favors, cake toppers, table numbers and chair ties. I know we saved alot of money doing that and can use it for other events if we ever have a need for them. Our Photographer Micheal was amazing!!!! Pictures are extremely important to me and I feel like he really tend to our needs for photos he was very detailed and paid attention to everything to capture great memories. I can't wait to see our photos. We purchased the digital package. We also purchased the video for the ceremony, the guy who did video seemed pretty good too ( I did not catch his name) my guest have video footage of him running around to get good footage and he looked like he was working really hard. I can't wait to see our video. I'll post updates of photos and video reviews when I get them. (They say it could take 4 to 6 weeks to get photos back) But over all everything was beautifully done, everyone was nice, food was good, all you can drink was good, flowers were amazing, over all great experience. Nicole, our day of coordinator did a good job of making sure our hopes and wishes came true for our big day. She was very good at communicating as well. She really seems to have a passion for what she does and she really left us on a good note. Over all...

Don’t book this venue unless it is your very last possible available option in the entire state of Nevada. When we decided on a destination wedding in Las Vegas, we didn’t want anything hosted by an Elvis impersonator or any of the other cliches. We wanted something beautiful and quaint while not being too far from the strip. Lakeside Weddings and Events checked every single one of those boxes. Our date was available and everything felt so perfect, we couldn’t send our deposit over fast enough. When I say we were thrilled to have booked this venue, we couldn’t have gushed enough over it. The last 6 weeks, or so, leading up to our wedding we submitted all of the documents Lakeside and Wynndy requested regarding food, music, and so on, everything seemed to be going to plan. We were truly over the moon for this day. Fast forward to the day before our wedding, the first time we got to see our venue in person. Instantly upon arriving to the venue, it seemed no one even knew we were coming - let alone that it was a scheduled appointment. Finally someone acknowledged us and then we were placed with a different woman… a woman who was seemingly brand new to every detail of our wedding. Including financial agreements such as we paid an additional fee for additional time and this person flat out told us we were wrong, despite what the contract blatantly stated. Long story short, this woman was the end to our dream wedding. If we could’ve backed out then and there we would’ve been on our way to the strip to find an Elvis impersonator to host our wedding. And I wish I was exaggerating. But back to before the wedding. Once we were finally able to track down Wynndy, our contact the entire duration of planning this wedding, she also told us we were wrong when I had our contract that clearly showed the additional time paid for in my hands. Both of these women gave us incredibly pretentious attitudes, along with gaslighting us by continuing to tell us we were wrong, the day before our wedding over things that were later found to be correct in our favor. As I was waiting to walk down the aisle, I couldn’t help but realize the song I was supposed to be walking down said aisle to was already playing for the bridal party. All music was clearly written in the documents we were asked to submit. When I waved at the DJ we were given (a part of the venue fee - you get no credit if you want to book another) to let him know the music was off, he just pointed his finger towards this woman ruining our ceremony music, blatantly showing how little he cared about this wedding. Not a single song we requested for our ceremony was played at the correct time. Including the one I was supposed to walk down the aisle to. Fast forward to our reception, when my now husband quite literally had to bribe this DJ with money to get him to turn up the music because even at the back table of a reception for a wedding of 50, I could hardly hear the music. All of this to say if you want to waste your money on a venue who couldn’t care less about you or your desires for one of the biggest days of your life, Lakeside Weddings is for you. They aim to displease and quite literally ruin some of the biggest parts of your day. Overall this is a beautiful venue with some of the worst wedding coordinators I have ever experienced.
