My family and I tried Marché Bacchus for the first time back on 28 May 2017 and I recall that the experience was so remarkable (daughter loved seeing the small turtles swimming in the water while eating), that we all agreed to try it again soon after that visit since it left such a lasting impression. However, I guess in my household, "soon" could mean anywhere between one hour, all the way to (in this case) almost 8 years, since our next visit wasn't until 22 Feb 2025. For that recent visit, my wife and I made reservations only to experience the restaurant not being as busy as anticipated. This was a good thing since it allowed the evening to be a lot quieter and enabled us to get a seat right next to the fireplace.
Although I don't recall what we ordered during the initial visit, for the recent visit, we ordered the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon for our drinks; French Onion Soup en Croute and Caesar Salad for our appetizers; Steak Frites and 8 oz. Filet Mignon for our entrées; and Green Beans Almondine and Lobster Mac & Cheese for our sides. We skipped dessert as we were too full to even stomach that - yes, there are times when there is actually no room for dessert. The Red Wine Shallot Jus was spectacular - I wanted to pour that on to every dish on the table...as it complemented both beef entrées that were cooked to perfection. Although my wife wasn't too much of a fan of the Caesar Salad, I thought it was one of the best. Note: If you're not a fan of anchovies, either ask to keep them off or don't order the Caesar Salad because you receive pieces of anchovies on your salad; that's why I enjoyed it so much - it was unique and added a burst of flavor to the salad. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was impressive because there were so many large chunks of lobster in it - clearly exceeding my expectations. But the star of the show was the Green Beans Almondine...if I weren't such a carnivore, I would just order a large plate of those green beans. All-in-all, the food was great!
The service was extraordinary, primarily due to our main server, Oliver. He was highly attentive, professional, and operated very efficiently. All the support staff that were assisting him with delivering the food, cleaning up, etc. were equally as pleasant...and extremely friendly. So kudos to the staff that evening! The restaurant's décor and ambiance were nice; I felt very comfortable during my dining experience...plus, it helped that I sat right next to the fireplace. I really enjoyed walking in and departing through their fabulous wine area; it adds a subtle touch of elegance during your experience in this building regardless if you're a casual/social drinker, sommelier, or dry as a desert.
The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was perfect - I have no regrets or negative comments. Overall, my experience here was nothing less than spectacular. I'm thankful that us locals have a restaurant of this caliber within reasonable proximity (based on where you reside), without having to endure the stress of all the cars, parking, and 80 billion people walking around on the Strip. I hope this restaurant stays for the long haul because I am sure we'll be back in the near future (hopefully not 8 years this time). I highly recommend this restaurant...
Read moreThis was our first time trying Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant, and we thought we'd splurge a bit by going to Marché Bacchus. Despite having a reservation, my wife and I waited in the crowded bar area for more than 20 minutes. After waiting for awhile, I ordered a couple glasses of sauvignon blanc at the bar. The tab was $39. Even though I know this place is on the pricey side, that seemed like a lot. But I just wanted to enjoy the evening, and the wine was good - although it didn't taste like any sauv blanc I'd tried before. I gave the bartender the benefit of the doubt and a decent tip.
We were seated inside (not on the patio), which was fine. We took our expensive glasses of wine with us to the table, which was a good thing, because we didn't see our server for at least 10 minutes. When she finally arrived, we put in our order for the advertised Thanksgiving meal.
We sat there for at least another 20 minutes before the first course came out. In case you're not keeping track, we're up to about 8pm at this point - an hour after our reservation. Our wine glasses had been empty for quite some time at that point. I asked the gentleman who brought the first course to have our waitress stop by since we hadn't seen her since she took our order. She appeared about 5 minutes later and we ordered more wine.
The main course arrived about 10-15 minutes later, still no wine. The restaurant was busy, yes, but I didn't see that our waitress was particularly motivated to compensate. I saw her floating along behind other servers several times, never looking our direction or seeming to rush or be concerned about her tables. I was getting pretty annoyed, but I truly tried not to let it bother me or ruin our evening. By the time our wine arrived, we'd nearly finished the main course.
During our long waits at the table I'd noticed that the by-the-glass wine menu had 2 sauv blancs, neither of which would have come close to adding up to $39, even with tax. On the way back from the restroom, I stopped in to talk to the bartender about it. He had apparently served us a more expensive wine without telling me (which explained the surprising flavor). No apology or suggestion that he'd misheard me. I got the strong feeling that this was not an honest mistake and that he was assuming I wouldn't notice.
As for the food... it was good (though it would have been a lot better with wine!). I enjoyed the flavor of all of the items in the first and main courses. The portions were small, especially the pomme purée which amounted to about a heaping tablespoon. The dessert course was comparatively large for some reason, and a bit over-sweet. In the end, the food didn't really meet the expectations I had based on what we were paying.
Ultimately the experience was frustrating, loud and disappointing. The service from our waitress was comically terrible and the bartender basically ripped us off. I left feeling pretty negative about the place. I doubt...

Subject: Disappointing Experience at Your Restaurant
I was really looking forward to dining at your restaurant. I visit the Americana next door often and was excited to try something new. Unfortunately, my experience left me deeply disappointed.
When we arrived, no one greeted us at the door, which I initially understood—it can get busy. However, when the host finally approached, the first words out of her mouth were, “Umm, can I help you?” There was no warm greeting, no “Welcome in” or “Do you have a reservation?” The tone immediately gave off an unwelcoming vibe, as if we didn’t belong there.
Instead of asking if we had a reservation, she stated, “It’s a wait if you don’t have one.” I informed her that I did have a reservation, which I made earlier in the day. Her response seemed to surprise the other couple waiting, and the overall energy just felt off from the start.
After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes before a server came by—despite walking past us several times—to ask if we wanted water. We said yes, but before we could say anything else, he walked away. We wanted to order actual drinks, but didn’t get the chance. When he returned another 15 minutes later with the water, we placed our drink and appetizer orders.
Then, after another 10 minutes, he returned asking, “What did you order again?” That was incredibly frustrating. Eventually, our drinks and appetizers arrived, but the service continued to be inattentive. No one checked in on us. When we finally ordered our entrées, they brought out food we hadn’t ordered—likely meant for another table.
By this point, we’d had enough. The server apologized and offered a free drink, but that didn’t solve the issue. We were hungry, frustrated, and ready to leave. When we asked for the check, he brought back two different receipts, saying he had accidentally charged my card twice—once for our order and again for the drinks he supposedly comped.
To make matters worse, we realized the restaurant was closing, and a busser began cleaning up loudly around us, throwing dishes into a bin nearby. It felt like they just wanted us out.
This was the worst dining experience I’ve had in years. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but the service made it feel like if you’re not a certain skin color, you don’t get A1 treatment. That’s incredibly disappointing and unacceptable. I will not be returning.
Sincerely, Eric
