Brides, I would highly, highly suggest you do not come here for your makeup.... I'm giving two stars as the makeup artist Tula as she was very accommodating, very friendly, and the makeup on the trial came out beautiful, but it was also done on a weekend, very early in the morning, where there were no other people/distractions. I had booked for makeup for 3 people. I was very, very clear to their receptionists/booking girls that we needed to be done by 3pm. They said we needed to come at 1pm, and I asked if they were certain that was enough time as I was previously told minimum 1hour for the bride and about 45minutes for bridesmaids. They said that was plenty of time. I asked if it was only 1 artist or multiple. They said just 1. I expressed my concern again about the time, was reassured it would be ready in time. We arrive at the salon a few minutes early, was told by the receptionist that our makeup artist was finishing up with another client. Okay, no problem. 10 minutes pass, we ask again, same answer, this continued on for about 45 minutes or so, possibly close to 1 hour that our appointment was delayed. There was ZERO accommodation from the receptionists, just that we had to wait. During that time, I asked if there was anyone else who could at least start, but no, we just had to wait. My appointment felt rushed, although Tula was again, very friendly. At the end of my makeup, she had asked if there was anything that I would like to be changed, but again, we started nearly 1 hour late, so I didn't have time to sit and really look through and see if anything needed to be changed. All in all, the bridal makeup was okay, I believe the contour was not blended as much as it should have been and there were some items I would have changed if we were actually on time. I was finished just before 3pm. My bridesmaid's makeup, came out okay, but she was not finished until about 3:20pm or so. My MOB makeup was very rushed and was very obvious. She left with lipstick on her teeth, eyebrows unevenly filled it and some other little things. But she wasn't done until about 3:45/3:50pm. Nearly 1 hour late. Because of this, our photographer was unable to get getting ready photos all together, because our wedding started at 4pm. Also because of this, both my bridesmaid and MOB were late getting ready to the wedding (which was just downstairs) and we could not start the wedding on time. Again, extremely disappointed. More so in the lack of planning, and empathy from the actual salon as again, my trial makeup was beautiful and Tula was great. I was so glad we got our hair done elsewhere as I'm sure this would have been the same situation. Save yourself the heartache. Go...
Read moreNever in my entire life have I ever experienced a place that was so unprofessional. Some background: I live locally and go to Desert Shores all the time. However, I have never been to their Salon yet so I decided to book and pay for a service ahead of time. My appointment was confirmed and was scheduled two weeks later. The confirmation call was a bit strange as the receptionist/scheduler told me that children and pets were not welcome as she (quote) âis not a babysitter and will not be responsible for anyone.â A bit straightforward but okay, I donât have kids or pets so there wouldnât be an issue with me. Fast forward to my appointment. I get there and they are a bit behind for the appointment. No problem, I had some work emails to review so I was on my phone and in no rush. After I was called in, the lady tried to force me to add services which were extra charge. I told her I would be sticking to what I had paid for and thatâs when the problems started. She started becoming more and more condescending and it made me feel very uncomfortable. She made me so uncomfortable I told her I was not interested in continuing the service and proceeded to the receptionist desk to confirm I would be canceling the appointment. She followed me and proceeded to verbally accoust me, I was mocked for my disability and was essentially left in tears. My husband heard what happened when I got home so he called in. He asked if he could speak with a manager of what happened but they told him they donât answer to anyone and they hung up on him. My husband was stunned as was I because we happen to be connected to quite a few businesses in the city due to our work and we both have never been treated like this. I still to this day donât know what I did to deserve this. Iâve been incredibly flexible, super calm throughout the ordeal, did not want to fight with anyone and certainly did not deserve my disability being thrown back in my face. My husband and I will never refer this place to anyone and would advise people to stay away especially since a lack of personal accountability is the norm here. I spend thousands on salon/spa care every year so this place will not get another booking from me and will never get a referral from me. There are so many other amazing salons in this city that you would...
Read moreI got my hair done by one of their newest employees name Zenovia her insta is royalbeauty.co I was invited to an event by my friend Kira , who is a model in Las Vegas Vegas As a way to help promote the salon and its business, we were all supposed to be paired up with different stylist. Zenovia was originally mine. Unfortunately, the other girlâs stylist Canceled the day of the appointment about 15 or 10 minutes in after Zenovia got started with one girlsâs head being that there was 8 models in total we wouldâve figured that that wouldâve been a hassle, but for Zenovia it wasnât. she did not complain once didnât frown didnât make faces unless they were funny. Faces didnât get upset if anything she seemed very excited and kept talking about the fact that she didnât think that she could do about six or seven heads in one day on a certain timeframe starting later in the day being that the event started around 3 PM and ended at eight and actually everybody got done on time. To me as someone who frequently used to get their hair done by family members, I actually never seen how hard salon workers work and honestly that put in perspective and for that to be semi her first day as far as her being interviewed, I was impressed ! She was actually hired on the spot and was told that she could start tomorrow being today. Honestly, she deserves it and I canât wait to see how far she goes and she actually did a wig install on me with ONE product !! She gave me a hyperrealistic curly blowout, which I loved, especially since I do have a wig. I didnât expect it to look like the other girlâs hair but It did !!! So please go book with her for any style. I watched her do blowouts, trims, silk presses you name it! p.s I also have a pixie cut under my wig, so she was actually able to slick my hair down and put it into a ponytail. Surprisingly, that should tell you...
