Visited Buena Vista Kitchen for the first time today. I was excited to try it as it’s not far from my home, and in a great location. We were seated on the patio in 108 degree weather. There was no fan near us, no mist etc. When the party near the only fan on the patio left, one would have expected someone to move it near us since we were just seated for lunch, no one bothered. We were boiling hot plus had to ask for water refills several times. We had to ask for chips and salsa and when the basket arrived it was literally like 7 chips and a tiny container of salsa. I am used to a huge basket of chips, two large containers of salsa and a full water glass at all times. Great chips and salsa is one of the best parts of a Mexican restaurant for most of us.
When our meals were served, my plate had a hair in it. I sent it back and my friends continued with their lunch. By the time my replacement dish arrived, my friends were finished with thier lunch. A credit, an apology, or some sort of acknowledgment would have been a nice gesture. We continued to ask for water throughout the meal which was disappointing considering its 108 degrees outside and there was no mist or fans to keep us cool. I don’t think this place should seat people on the patio in summer until they have made better provisions for their guests. A nice big bowl of chips and fresh salsa should be offered to all guests as that is a typical expectation at a Mexican restaurant, especially with Margaritas. The food was good, the presentation could have been better. I am hopeful that this review helps this business as the location is fantastic and I would like to try it again...

I asked her any recommendations she said not really. She took forever to bring me straws for my drinks & silverware. She never once came back to the table to check up & to see if we needed anything else worst costumer services. it looks dirty when you walk in to order the cooks drinking a soda while their cooking & eating. Disgusting. The rice was hard. & I thought maybe it just me but no another couple the was next to us got the same treatment even worst she leave the drinks on the table she never once asked them anything else like a regurlar restaurant does. Wonder where they got their health card at ? & their training skills it looks bad for your brand especially because we got os much to choose from Mexican Restaurants thank Go! I tried calling today to speak to the kitchen manager or the general manager the food is good not the rice just trained your employees better. I spend Money there’s 100 Mexican restaurants & I gave this one a shot never gain. There is also so much people wiling to work if your employees don’t like their job or they don’t like to interact with people they should find...
Read moreThe food was good, but the service was disappointing. I would consider returning if not for the poor experience with the staff.
I can tell the chef is passionate about his work—he was out running plates and speaking with some guests, which was great to see. However, the rest of the staff didn’t match his level of care.
If you're visiting with a group of five or more, be aware that there’s no seating to accommodate larger parties.
Service was extremely slow—simple requests like a coffee refill, salt, pepper, and jelly took 20 minutes. I eventually had to go inside to ask, only to be met with attitude.
When it was time to leave, we asked for a box, but the staff ignored us. A few minutes later, someone finally returned, dropped the boxes on the table without a word, and walked away.
Overall, the food was enjoyable, and the chef's passion was evident, but the service needs serious...
