For those of you leaving nasty reviews about the smellā¦.. There may be somethingās youāre not considering. Keeping a reptile store or reptile room smelling great is a challenging task. Maybe not for those of you who keep shoeboxes with snakes in them or have just a couple reptiles. 1- with as many different species that are in that building and the size some of them. The smell can go from good to bad in a matter of minutes. If itās the rodent smell, probably depends on the day you come in. Cleaning rodent cages does not happen every day. 2- I itās not Petsmart or Petco. No deep pockets $ Itās a family run business. The ability to have multiple employees in there constantly cleaning would put Sean out of business. Please be more realistic and thoughtful in your expectations in the future. I have known Sean for years now and he is very thoughtful and conscientious in his reptile husbandry. Very knowledgeable guy. Sometimes you just canāt get away from the smell. People want to buy rats and mice to feed their animals but they donāt want to smell them!
why would anybody think I had a qualified opinion? Hereās a short version⦠Iāve been in the reptile trade for over 40 years. Iāve done consulting and display work for shark reef at Mandalay Bay. I spent many years the Tropicana hotel as the wildlife manager. Iāve done display work for the San Diego zoo, Sweetwater school district, Clark county school district. Iāve had Reptile since I was four years old and Iāve been breeding them since I was 12 years oldā¦. Iāve managed pet stores Iāve had a pet store. Iāve owned and cared for almost every non-venomous reptile thatās been available in the last 50 yearsā¦ā¦ā¦. Blah blah blah! All that being said. Yes, in a perfect world youāre olfactory organs would not be offended. When Ken opened exotic pets back in the early 90s it was a small shop and he had the same challenges. As his business grew and he had the financial wherewithal⦠he hired more people and moved to a bigger place and was able to keep it smelling pretty good most of the time. If you would like to benefit the situation consider leaving a big fat tip in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I went into this reptile shop expecting to purchase a new pet and buy some feeders for the ones I already have. Upon walking into the store, there were two employees. Neither of the employees greeted me when I walked in but I continued to look around thinking, well maybe theyāll ask if I need help, which they did not: I not only had to go and ask for help but the young lady helping was not knowledgeable at all about the animals I inquired on. The other gentleman did not say one word the whole time but rather tried looking away every time I looked his direction. I shopped at Ken Foose āExotic Petsā for MANY years and received many great pets and excellent customer service. Iām sure he would not be happy with how Pet Planet LLC has been taken over and the services being provided. Hopefully this review will bring some change. The animals are priced well and tanked seem to be maintained. Store has potential but employees definitely need to step it up. Customer services is everything. They not only lost a customer, they lost a lot of money I was willing to spend....

No clue if he's ever been trained and knows nothing about the birds past!! I strongly felt that he was more concerned about the money... than a nice home for the bird !! Sure hope he lowers the price soon so I can but him and give him a real home!š! Thanks Shawn for putting the animal FIRST!.š.! *UPDATE: His rude response says a lot about a lier...Our encounter only lasted for a few hours consisting of 3 text and 1 phone call!!
