Today was my 4th visit to the Lawrence location. I LOVE escape rooms and Breakout Lawrence WAS my favorite place to go. My mom and I go together and take new guests with us each time. We want to spread the word and the FUN! ...NOW, let's get to why 2 stars. Tonight Mom and I went with my daughter and niece. We visited Room 13, the newest room. Oh boy were we excited! Well...apparently the jerks before us in the room trashed it .. ripped a tv off a wall, broke some clues, and so on. There was even a clue that had to be removed all together, thanks to them. Anyway, we get to a very detailed clue and had quite a bit of time left. We had the answer correct!!... but due to a malfunction it didn't trigger the secret passage to open. We didn't breakout. But not because we couldn't beat the game or solve the puzzles, because of a game malfunction. We were not even offered a coupon to come visit again at a discounted price. Just welp sorry bout it guys, nothing I can do. The young man that lead our game was delightful, don't get me wrong. I'm just very disappointed that if the game malfunctions to the point that 15 or more minutes are lost that there isn't more done to try to encourage repeat business.

My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary and it was SO MUCH FUN!! We did the Alice in Wonderland room and while we did not succeed in escaping the room in the one hour given, we are definitely going back to try again and do other rooms! We had a blast! The hour goes by quick and the clues could be anything! You do get hints which help! The room allows up to 6 team members, however, due to the small space of the room (at least the 1 we were in) and how you need to collaborate and work together as a team, I feel 6 people would be "too many hands on deck" but I haven't tried it so I don't know. The staff is very kind and helpful, from start to finish. This location has the best prices that I've seen locally so that is definitely a plus! They do not allow pictures or videos so I do not have those to post with this review, however the room we were in was colorful and had really cool effects!! There is also secret doors in some rooms! This is a REALLY fun experience if you like puzzles, riddles, and games. Something that everyone should try once! Can't wait...

My girlfriend and I did 2 rooms here. Both rooms were fantastic! Our favorite was the Civil War room, but Y2K was of equal quality and fun! We will be recommending it to all our friends. On a side note, our game masters, Maddie and Wayne, were absolutely amazing and simply perfect. No one realizes how much a game master can make or break a room, but these 2 were something special. They were professional and obviously very good at what they do. The best part was that they added a little of their own personality to it and it made an already amazing room into something really special. Maddie added an element of excitement and energy that made us feel like she was just as happy to be there as we were, while Wayne gave a us a feeling of collected cool that gave us a new perspective on the room. All in all the staff made the location go from a great experience to a must...
