Although entrance had trash on the floor. The hike was very clean looking I went 3 times so far at different times the earlier the better If you don't want to run in to people. If you go closer to afternoon the bugs are out and about nice walk for your leashed dogs. Elevation varies which is a great work out trails are clearly marked. There's bird sanctuary. That has a bench right next to river so you can take a quick rest. You can see beaver population here is also alive and well saw some dams its great place to get fresh air and get in a good walk

A surprisingly diverse park that surely has special beauty in all seasons. I appreciated the labyrinth of trails with consistent paint splash markings. There are a number of attractive features including a massive granite rock face that towers over the trail. I was also drawn to the giant beaver dam in an expansive marsh, a lazy stretch of the Shawsheen River along the Blue trail and a dark swamp on the back side of the park. It's a great place for dog walking as well as biking and rock climbing.

Really loved this place. Went for a sunset walk during the winter, and it was a great one. Very easy hike, nice views, and honestly a great outdoorsy thing to do, even during the brutal winter. Best thing I loved about the place was that it free of cost and not limited to just residents of Lawrence! PS: parking space is available at the trailhead. Trailhead is also opposite to a plaza with food places, in case you're snacky after the hike.

Certainly exceeded my expectations given the area it's in. Plenty of exploring to do, multiple geocaches, even saw some people rock climbing. Dog friendly, but not as conducive to letting your pooch roam free as other nearby locations (surrounded by highways / turnpikes, no real swimming area). More woodsy and less manicured than similar locations, which has both it's pluses and minuses. Very relaxing escape into nature... until you get near the highway. Went with a dog and a 12 year old and they both had a blast- 12 year old particularly loved the geocaching aspect (worth the $5 or so for the app to make a kid feel like Indiana Jones while he's walking through the woods in Lawrence).

For what it's worth I didn't see a single needle, if- like me- that possibility may be a hangup for you....

I'm surprised something like this is within the limits of the City of Lawrence. Nice little trails and even some spots for rock climbers. Small but still quite nice. Sometimes the trails are unkempt and I know one of my friends who visits often actually cut down a large tree limb blocking one of the paths because it had been there for months and nobody maintained it. Sometimes sketchy people are out in the parking lot but nobody has ever bothered me or anybody I know. Sometimes you get confused because you feel like you're out on nature but then you realize you can still hear the...
