5+ for this hidden gem! The Purple Couch Bookshop -- owner, staff, & atmosphere alike -- it's a much desired breath of fresh air... The first couple times I went to this bookshop, I was just looking for a place to work remotely because I mostly work from home & need a change of environment now & then. Just the fact that they were instantly welcoming & even encouraging me to sit wherever, for however long I wanted [with ZERO guilt or pressure to make a single purchase] felt amazing. That good feeling only got better with each time I was there -- to the point where I was determined to make at least 1 purchase -- if only to say thank you! (I couldn't stop at just 1 purchase -- honestly, but proudly, I splurged & then I took a bunch of pics to show people I want to take there!) *The time I spent there, working on my laptop off to the side, I witnessed more & more to fall in love with, in both the store AND staff! I can't explain it in any other way than to say being there felt like coming home. My husband and I wouldn't be as settled in our new home as we are if it weren't for the Purple Couch Bookshop. When we discovered they were a 4-minute drive away, it felt a little like fate. We know and love the booksellers well now, and I've met some of the most incredible people through the romance book club.

The booksellers get to know you, fawn over your dog, remember what you read and make good recommendations, and showcase a wide range of books by well known and breakout authors alike. I've taken my best friend, my mom, and my mother-in-law to visit because I want everyone to meet my friends from the bookstore.

If you’re looking for the perfect bookstore, look no further! Kate, Shelley, and Olivia have become some very good friends since The Purple Couch opened! I even brought my cute Siamese in for a meet and greet. They work hard to make everyone feel welcomed. It quickly became a second home for me. They have the best selection of books and have something for everyone. I still have yet to find a bookstore that can rival what The Purple Couch is to me.
