Mary's Curious Goods — Attraction in Lawton

Curious Goods is a gem of a local business. It is also a wonderful ‘curiosity’ (for a lack of a better term) in its own right. Specializing in what I would consider more new-age metaphysical goods and goodies, there is so much to be found in this establishment. Everything from incense to jewelry, to common and obscure herbs and ingredients, to wonderful statutes and pendants, you can get lost in the uniqueness of it all. Venture into the back, and you will even find a collection of clothing for your specific fashion needs and a library to satiate those who want to learn more. The store is also very clean and incredibly well-lit, meaning you feel very comfortable from the second your walk through the door. The employees are very nice and welcoming as well. They were nice enough to offer to help and willing enough to give you space if you just want to browse. Also importantly, they seem very knowledgeable in the wares of the store, and if there is something they don’t know, they seem willing to learn with you. One thing that might not be evident walking through the door is the number of activities they also have throughout the year. One such activity was an Aura Photo Shoot, which I am pained to say that I missed out on. Just be willing to walk up to the counter, strike up a conversation, and ask what they got going on. You will definitely not regret it. Overall, the store is a very unique taste, but a perfect opportunity to browse something so much more unique than your local Wal-Mart. if i could put 0 stars i would. i thought the place was beautiful but the staff was very unfriendly. me and my sister were looking at the rings and were asking to look at all the different ones they had and the guy showing us acted as if we were inconveniencing him and he continued to rush us and tell us we already looked at a certain case even tho we were trying to make a decision and trying to find the right ring for us. maybe if they had the rings by size it would’ve been a lot more convenient for both of us and the employe but no that’s not how it was. he was being very rude and it made my sister go into a panic attack and she just randomly chose a ring and bought it cuz she felt pressured to “just pick one” and i didn’t realize this until we got back in the car and the ring didn’t even fit any of her fingers so i went back inside and asked if i could exchange it or just return it and the employees were very rude about the situation and they said i could exchange it for another ring but they were being very rude about it and made me feel uncomfortable and rushed. definitely don’t recommend going to this establishment if you’re looking for a friendly environment. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 i’ve been to many different crystal shops looking for crystal rings and i have never been met with that kind of service....

I've came into the shop previous times before.. And I think the store is amazing.. Yesterday which was 03/10/2023 I came to grab some needed items.. Now granted two of the most important items I needed was outta stock.. OK cool no problem overstandable... Now what I didn't appreciate was I felt I was being followed around the store untill the point where I was completely uncomfortable and left.. The items that I had in my basket I kindly return them to a worker I let her know since they was out of the two main items I needed I no longer needed the items I had placed in the basket .. Yes the items was outta stock but I still wanted to window shop for a little while and if anything else I needed I garbd... while shopping i was being watched closely by the two younger employees.. They watched me closely the entire time I was there all the way up until I left.. As a business owner myself I felt so uncomfortable and disrespect as a well paying Customer.... I give two stars for past experience that was...
