If I could give this experience a no star, I would! Mike is such a rude “host”-with a very large attitude- and is all about talking smack about other companies under the ruse he is “doing us a favor by informing us”, by the way- Barton’s product is 1792 not 1762!! So much for all your knowledge!! Oh by the way- I have personally toured Bartons and their products and staff were amazing!! We were so disappointed and felt duped! When we walked in- there were two girls having a tasting at the bar- the young girl, who was working her last shift was very nice and only trying to follow “the rules” regarding required reservations informed us that we had to wait an hour for a wine tasting and tour, so we booked and AFTER we had paid $25/person to come back an hour later- of which we arrived back 15 minutes early- were very rudely told we couldn’t even sit at the EMPTY bar while we waited- even after we PAID- this was ridiculous!! I travel the country visiting various distilleries and wineries and have never experienced such an arrogant know-it-all, that feels the need to run his mouth negatively about other businesses! Any other business we have visited show nothing but respect and positivity towards fellow distillers and winemakers. Your “host” should expand his knowledge and take note on what great customer service is. Would not recommend this experience to anyone!! Don’t waste the extra $5 for the “tour”, of which we didn’t get a choice but to pay for since it was the only option available, supposedly- to literally walk back behind the bar to see the still- what a joke! If it weren’t for the no refund policy- we...
Read moreI have been wanting to travel up I-15 to Layton for a mead run. Due to conflicting work schedules between myself and wife, it has come to be an adventure in progress. At the State liquor store in Sandy, I was hoping The Hive mead was being sold. Much to my delight/ surprise I found it. I tried the Summer (semi-sweet) and was shocked that I made a mistake on buying just 1. I have tried numerous Meads not only from the US but also from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany, and honestly say This is one of the best that I have tasted. Smooth, very flavorful and very aromatic. Knowledge and experience goes a long way into production. This is a combination of all. In baseball it is called a brand-new slam. Well worth the my search. The only problem I have with this is Why the Hell did I wait Sooo long? I have been stung.( My wife, who likes sweet French Roses, is now hooked also 👍👍👍 )
5 of 5 horns definitely . Skal...
Read moreAmazing selection of fruit wines and meads. We did a tasting which was a very fun and pleasant experience. The employees were very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations about the product.
All the meads and wines I tried were good, some were very good. The more specialized options were better than the basic meads. Those were okay but not as flavorful as other brands I tried. I really enjoyed some of the seasonal offerings. The snack tray that came with the tasting was yummy.
I wish it were possible to drop in for a tasting. They have to be scheduled online in advance. I didn’t know that and brought a few visiting friends by and we were unable to do a tasting. I later returned with some family and it was great. I’m not sure if it’s a state law or what but I’ve never been to a winery that required reservations before. It seems like they would be losing out on money by...
