DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY GOING TO THIS DISGUSTING PLACE! We went on a Friday night at 9 PM, and they did not close until 10:30 PM. However, because it was late, the manager decided not to refill any food pans that emptied. This left a lot of empty pans and the pans that were filled had very old food that obviously had been sitting out for hours. The food was mostly cold, it was hard, and it tasted horrible! On top of that, they had the Mongolian bbq turned off for the night. We had to ask for soy sauce, which was a fun test all by itself since the waitress did not speak English. The other waitress had took all of them off of the table to refill as part of her closing list - a full 1 1/2 hours BEFORE closing time! They were sweeping, vacuuming, and making all kinds of noise. Basically treating us like we were a nuisance, and we were not the only table there. Then, the most awesome part....... I watched a mouse run across the floor! Right from under the buffet to the kitchen! That was when we decided we were completely done, even though we were still hungry. I guess I should not have been surprised seeing how dirty and gross the restaurant is.
When we went up to pay, I tried speaking to the manager about all of the things above. I was very respectful to him and he was extremely rude to me. He told me the non refilled food and cold, old food didn't matter because there was other food available. The bbq being closed was the same. And at this time he pointed out he watched us take food to our table. Then when I pointed out he charged an adult price for our 10 year old, he laughed and said "I know your daughter not 10." Um, well of course my daughter is not 10! I wouldn't let my 10 year old wear make up and carry an iphone! My daughter is 17! I pointed out my son is the 10 year old. He then called me a liar, told me my son is too tall to be 10. I pointed at my almost 6'6" tall husband and said ya, this is his dad. He told me again I lie. I told him that given all of the issues I feel our meal should be free, but I would be willing to settle for half. He told me no. I told him I would never come back and I would leave negative feedback where I can - he said he doesn't care.
If you notice, most of the higher marks for this place are from at least a few years ago. This used to be a fairly decent place to eat, but I had not been here for over 7 years.

Read moreWe just moved to Layton in December and were looking for a good Chinese buffet. That is NOT this buffet. We visited this restaurant today and were sorely disappointed.
First off, we didn't realize it was dinner price for the whole day Sunday. I don't think it was worth the $11.98 per person (especially not for the little bit I managed to eat). They didn't have traditional fried rice, they had some ham fried rice that didn't even have egg in it. They only had General Tso's chicken. I was hoping for Orange or Peking Chicken at least. The chicken on a stick looked flavorful, but the color was deceiving. It was rather bland. Their what we call "sugar biscuits" lacked sugar. Maybe it was a "sugar free" option? Who knows. I ended up pouring a sugar packet over it, but it didn't help since the sugar packet was so fine ground. I thought, "Well, they do have some desserts. I love those little cake thingies. I'll give one of those a try. I'm used to them being moist and crumbly. This piece of cake was the driest I'd ever had and the icing was so dry it stuck to my fork and wouldn't pull off when I swiped the fork out of my mouth.
Also note: te buffet area is rather closed in and I was constantly stepping around people and always in the way of someone else. It was not laid out to flow well. Part of it butts up to the staff area. There isn't really any definitive line to mark where each area ends.
My husband had been so excited about going here because of some of the reviews he'd read, but we'll never...
Read moreI'm not a huge fan of Buffets in general, and it's been a few years since I've been to one so take this review with a grain of salt and YMMV.
I went here for a kids birthday party and found it to be underwhelming at best. The "good" options were only tolerable and about on par with what you might get from a grocery store Deli late in the day. I tried all of the land based meat options(beef/pork/chicken). Most of the beef was fairly dry, generally salvaged by a copious amount of sauce. Some of the chicken was decent, but some if it seemed like they forgot the chicken. The pieces were generally hard as a rock and inedible. I liked the General Tso sauce so when they put more out I grabbed a 2nd plate to give it another chance with the same inedible result. The pork is what earned a 2nd star. After being generally disappointed in the chicken and beef I tried out the pork and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't bad. If not for that I would have left hungry.
I felt bad they had to deal with all the kids running around, making a mess, and putting their hands directly into the buffet (not my kids) and left a $20 tip, but had it just been my family going there for dinner it would have been significantly less.
Unfortunately I could not recommend this place to a friend. Buffets with Asian food are generally hit or missed based on if they get your preferred option(s) right. For me it was a miss. There were not enough options done well for...
