We had a horrible experience trying to see Amy Schumer last night (August 19th).
We came down the escalator into the fox tower casino where the theatre is located and immediately saw the line towards security. There was no guidance from staff at Foxwoods or signage to guide said line just people following people.
We entered this line and waited for about 45 minutes until a security member told a large section of people to go into another line. It was at this point we realized that the one gigantic line was leading to only one section of security. There were three other sections with far less of a line. Because of this, we didn’t enter the theatre until 9. The show had already started, we missed the 2 openers to Amy, and Amy herself had already been on stage for a few minutes.
We were extremely disappointed. It was difficult to even enjoy the 30-45 minutes of her set that we were able to watch. I won’t be going back to this theatre or Foxwoods for quite awhile and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. They weren’t prepared for this...
Read moreThis is a really nice theater. Excellent sound and big screens on the walls to project the live show. The chairs are really comfy with a good amount of leg room. Hanging around a casino while you wait to enter is fun because you can watch people playing slots or cards games. And it provides places to eat or spend some time before or after the show.
The staff is phenomenal. The ushers help you find your seat and keep the line moving. The merchandise staff handles the crowd professionally and expertly. Security does their job without being aggressive.
It’s a hotel casino, so there is plenty of parking and parking options. Be sure to park on the correct side or else you’ll have a very long walk to the theater. Of course, you have the option to stay at the hotel and not have to worry about traffic beforehand or driving home late at night.
The Premier Theater is a great venue to catch a live show. The option to make a full day or weekend out of it makes this venue...
Read moreI'll go to hear Jason Isbell at any venue he happens to play, but he's not who this review is about. This was my first visit to the Grand Theater at Fox Tower (or any casino) and I was a bit skeptical. The auditorium, however, was attractive and comfortable and the acoustics were good.
What was really exceptional was the staff. They were all very friendly and helpful -- management, box office, security, and ushers. I bought a single ticket at the last minute. The show was almost sold out, and the only remaining singles were nosebleed seats, which didn't interest me. The woman at the box office (I wish I remembered her name) spoke to the manager and was able to get me a very good seat in the orchestra; a comfortable chair at the end of the fourth row. I was happy as can be. The whole experience was a...
