We chose to come to the actual restaurant here instead of just going to the smaller counter service right around the corner. What a mistake! A simple sandwich most likely would have been an improvement over our meal. We each ordered veggie omelets, I got the “fresh” fruit cup and he got home fries, both got toast. Initial impression was good, the mixed-in style omelets were a very good size and full of veggies. However, that was the end of the positives. There was absolutely zero seasoning used in that omelet. I don’t think the cook even thought about spices as they were making it. The mushrooms absolutely came out of a can, and because there was no other flavor in the omelet, the mushroom taste came through strongly and unpleasantly. After asking for some jam, I tried the toast. Something about it tasted awful; whether the bread was super stale or the butter was bad, I have no idea. His rye toast also tasted very strange. The fruit was boring and also most likely came out of a can.
The coffee was weak, and my husband’s Bloody Mary was not very good. It was chunky without being spicy, and he said there was very little actual tomato flavor. At least it was less expensive than the drink he had at dinner last night at a different restaurant.
The hosting staff were great, and our waitress was fine other than coming back for a coffee refill five seconds after pouring the first cups and then not returning until we were empty for ten minutes.
Overall it was an extremely disappointing start to our day. My suggestion is to get a coffee from Starbucks, then go to the Junior’s counter and get a piece of cheesecake to go; you’ll be much happier with that breakfast than if you go to their...
Read moreThis is a fun place. The interior is huge with all kinds of visually stimulating art and décor to look at while you're sitting at the bar having a drink or dining at a table. Love the New York themed murals everywhere, from Coney Island to the Brooklyn Bridge and historic Brooklyn Dodgers. Staying overnight at Foxwoods, we ate here twice.
In the afternoon, three of us sat at the bar to order some lunch and have a drink. Our friend had a BLT that was packed with bacon. The stack must have been over an inch high. My partner had a fried chicken sandwich with a creamy sauce and fries. I chose the sandwich and soup combo, chicken salad on a roll with Matzo ball soup. Junior's also gives patrons a big bowl of pickles and slaw to share. Everything was good except for my roll which was tough, so I ate the chicken salad without it.
The next morning we had an event breakfast here with reserved space in the back. There were a lot of people attending, so it took some time to get menus, then coffee, then our food, but the servers still did a decent job getting all of these things to a packed room.
Once your plate was put in front of you, it was worth the wait. The Eggs Benedict at our table looked perfect, the pancakes two of our party had were big and fluffy, the French Toast was delicious, and my scrambled eggs were plentiful with rye toast and turkey sausage links. The sausage was the least favorite thing of ours. There are better links.
One person's sweet muffin and fresh fruit parfait looked great, with a wide variety of colorful mixed fruit layered in a big glass topped with whipped cream. Definitely worth stopping here to eat if you're staying in the casino or...
Read moreUPDATE # 3: We went back this past weekend for breakfast and dinner. Our server was the same for both meals. She was wonderful. Towards the end of our meal, a manager checked to make sure everything was good. We had our prime rib dinners which were well worth the trip. Our waitress Nat was fantastic. Very attentive but not hovering. Thanks so much for making our experience so wonderful.
UPDATE #2: After no response from location at Foxwoods, I reached out to New York. They have addressed the issue at the location, and requested we return another time to give them another chance. I still have not heard from anyone at the Foxwoods location. We will go back again as the food is pretty great.
UPDATE: Juniors management answered below. When I sent them contact info they still have not reached out. They clearly do NOT care about their customers' experiences. Too bad, their food is pretty good. Would not recommend based on lack of service alone.
Drove 3 hours for the typically spectacular service and prime rib. Unusually quiet for a Friday night. Food was great as usual, service flat out stunk. Our waitress was too busy flirting with one of the managers on. We had to flag another server to get our drinks refilled. When I asked our server about it, she said you got another drink didn't you? That's good. When we talked with a different manager, he advised us they had noticed her work ethic had gone down hill and maybe she was on drugs. Pretty sad and very...
