I went with my boyfriend to buy a gaming computer. I had found a model I liked on their app and went to this store to buy it. I was told it was not in stock and was shown another model. It seemed to have the same specifications except it was 200 dollars more than the model I was looking at. My boyfriend said that was fine, he liked the pretty colors of the LED lights. I also purchased a webcam and Wacom Art Tablet. Chase (I think that was his name) then spent the rest of the time (while checking us out) talking about how much money he makes and how much he knows about all the products. How he had to go through several interviews to get the job and how he has to complete more training soon, about how he was not worried about passing because he knows so much. If Chase knew so much and was so helpful, he should have known that I would need a CD drive to install the webcam and tablet I purchased. The computer he sold us did not have one. I was not aware of this, because he was so busy trying to sell us this computer (along with the most expensive model of monitor) that he didn't ask us what exactly we would be using it for. Although I stated several times I would be using it for my artwork as well as gaming. I do not need to know Chases' life story about his job at Best Buy or how much money he makes, I needed a CD/DVD drive on the computer. It's my fault for not checking to make sure, but who doesn't need a CD/DVD drive on a computer these days. I can't even watch a movie on my computer or install any computer game with a disc until I receive my EXTERNAL CD/DVD drive from Amazon. Luckily I was able to install the drivers for the webcam and tablet from the internet, however I was very upset to find that the computer did not have a Disk Drive. Chase should have asked if we needed one, if he KNEW the computer didn't have one, and not spent so much time talking about himself. If I had bought the printer he was trying to sell me, I would not have been able to use it either without having to spend the extra time searching for yet another driver on the internet. I like being able to go in store and leave with my purchase, but after this experience I think I will stick to online shopping, at least there it's ONLY my fault if I don't get what I need. I feel like I only have myself to blame for it not having a CD drive, but I feel I should have been told, or for him to at least stop talking long enough about himself to let us...

I originally purchased a Lenovo laptop from Best Buy two years ago. After the original Lenovo charger was damaged about six months ago, I returned to Best Buy to purchase a charger. Of course, they did not have any Lenovo brand chargers available, but they assured me that the $70 universal charger would work just as well.
About six months after I purchased the new charger, I left my computer alone in a room to charge. When I returned, the screen was black and it would not turn on. The light on the charger was on, so I assumed that the damage was within the computer. I rely heavily on my computer for work, so I immediately scheduled a diagnostic appointment in the area. This cost $95.
The next day, I got a call from the computer specialists. They could not get the computer to charge. They tested the charger with a voltmeter, and it turns out, that was the problem. I wanted to make sure that the computer was not damaged, so I returned to Best Buy to purchase a second charger. They would not return my money for the original charger, because they claimed that they could not find my receipt. Nevertheless, I needed another charger, so I purchased it. According to the voltmeter, this one was also dead.
I returned it to Best Buy, and asked that they test a third charger in the store. As expected, it was also dead. I complained to a manager, who told me that it was probably my computer, and tried to sell me a new laptop. I refused, because I had evidence that the chargers were at fault, thanks to the wonderful people at the other computer shop.
That night, a friend who had a Lenovo charger agreed to meet up with me and allow me to borrow his charger. His charger worked, and I was able to purchase a new Lenovo charger.
Overall, this experience cost me approximately $200, and I lost over a week of work. All of the employees at Best Buy were not only unhelpful, but rude and dishonest. They treated me like I was unintelligent when I was trying to explain that the problem was not within my computer. I have never encountered such disrespect from "professionals," and I will never return to Best Buy for any future purchases.
I strongly recommend finding somewhere else to shop; I will be purchasing my next laptop directly from the company to cut out any further interactions with Best Buy's...
Read moreSo, let me start by saying i love going to Best Buy because i love electronics and every single time i go i walk out with something. My experiences here in Lexington with Best Buy have been horrible. Why the 5 stars? Here’s why i gave you the 5 stars in just a bit. Prior to that i was in there 2 times and both times i had a pretty horrible experience. Why? Seems like the employees are there just collecting a paycheck and avoiding customers if they can. If i ask a question i get a basic answer to what tells me that employees don’t want to really look into my problem or question. Here’s an example:
(Me) Can you figure out why this keyboard doesn’t work on this computer that i want to try out so i can purchase it if i like it?
(Employee) well i guess it’s because customers tend to play with it and mess it up. Does not offer to try to get another or look into it.
All i can say is that’s not a way to run a store. If these guys are not getting paid enough that may be why or they just plainly hate their job. If i were the regional director i would monitor that stores customer service on the floor with secret shoppers. You will see what i mean when you do.
Now back to why i gave you the 5 stars. On my 3rd trip i couldn’t really see the motivation in the employees wanting to assist people. I stood there for 2 hours walking around and looking for products that i wanted to purchase. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and Christmas you guys are almost out of everything i wanted and that’s understandable. Until, when i looked for some AirPods and asked Devin for some Her answer was let me check for you because we just received some merchandise. Maybe there is some back there that i might be able to find. Well she came back and brought me some in hand and gave me the best customer service with the only smile i had ever received in the whole store. This is why I’m giving you a five star. This girl deserves a raise or a promotion because businesses do well with employees like her. I will be back soon to buy my new tv for my apartment Well job...
