Smart Point — Attraction in Lexington

Looked up the best reviewed phone repair store in Lexington, Smart Point came up. I call ahead, the store, while being listed as open, is empty. Maybe five minutes later, I see the guy drive up and he lets me in to repair my phone. The shop is a wreck inside, nothing like the pictures. I talk to the guy about getting the port on my phone repaired, and he talks to me like I have no idea what I’m talking about. Very belittling, but hey, if it’s the best repair shop in Lexington, maybe the repair work will make up for his attitude? He fixes it, it takes forever (said it was going to be maybe an hour or so, ended up taking three), and while it’s open, brings it out and starts touching the logic board. He breaks the OLED panel then has the audacity to tell me that my screen was already cracked and he couldn’t do anything about it (Granted, my screen protector was cracked but nothing was wrong with the screen. Could have confused him, but as a good repairman he should have known the difference between the screen and the protector). Someone else that worked there also sold me a pair of “new” earbuds, which weren’t at all, they stopped working a few hours after purchase. The only good part was he gave me half off the repair because he broke my screen, but it wasn’t anything compared to the $400 price tag of the new screen. AVOID THIS PLACE...

Came in looking to get the HDMI port on my PS5 fixed and quoted me $140 and also saw how dirty the system was and recommended cleaning and reapplying the thermal paste on the processor to better cool the system. Total charged was $200 which I believe was a very fair deal as other places in town were quoting me that price for only the HDMI port. Dropped off the system at opening and was told it’ll be done that at 7 P.M that same day which surprised me since a buddy of mine had to wait a week to get his system fixed. Despite having a very busy day and his technician not showing up for the day, Vladimir went the extra mile and worked past his closing time to deliver me my console as he promised.

I was very pleased with a service I had at Smart Point Store. I called in after water damaging my phone. A technician was very professional and friendly. They let me bring my phone in, even though they are under remodeling and were closed that day. My phone was fixed, and I was able to pick it up the next day. I really appreciate their fast service. Two other repair shops in town told me they weren't able to fix it when they looked at it, that it's not fixable and I had to replace it. I was worried about losing all my information.
