Happy China Restaurant — Restaurant in Lexington

I am so very pleased every single time I order from this restaurant. I am confident in even trying new things, as I know they will be great choices no matter what! Their portions are generous and balanced (Excellent Entre to Rice Ratio). Their prices are excellent (My GF and I spend 20$ for both of us to get a lunch special delivered) and boy are they fast! Our orders arrive consistently within 20 minutes and their speed has caught us off guard- they're bringing it from Eastland Shopping Center to campus downtown. Many Chinese places lately have been changing their quality (there's a complicated reasons to explain but basically ordering premade lower quality ingredients) and I am happy to say Happy China isn't doing this and probably will not. I also want to note they have been very good to their immediate area and have served "less fortunate" people with absolutely zero prejudice. Not only is Happy China a great Chinese restaurant but an asset to our community. I never have to second guess ordering from here, nor do I ever wonder if I need to try somewhere else. OK, let me tell you about this hidden gem called Happy China. They're located in Eastland Shopping Center(Off Winchester Rd, Lexington, KY, right next door to Save-A-Lot. My family has been eating at this restaurant for over 25 years STRAIGHT. We've had Celebratory dinners, Birthdays etc by means of Happy China. They make you feel like family, folks. You can't get that everywhere. Seriously, the people in the restaurant KNOW my order by heart. They know my face and my name. They are super friendly. You get HUGE portions. We have, YET, to get a bad order. I can't speak highly enough, about the restaurant. They deserve every single accolade! They're on DoorDash!

If you're out and about, doing a little shopping, in Eastland Shopping Center or trying to figure out what to have for 🍽. I recommend giving Happy China a try. You won't regret it. The atmosphere is so peaceful and calm. It might hold 12-15 people(booth seats) plus 3 seats for people waiting for their pickup order. So, if you go, tell them Tanya a.k.a 'General Tso Extra, Extra Spicy with Chili Peppers'...

Ordered from here bc reviews say it had the best dumplings. The filling was cooked, but the shell was still raw. Ordered the chicken low mein bc it showed as the #3 choice of door dasher orders. It was incredibly salty. I couldnt make it past half a bowl. I can still feel the immense saltiness. The chicken on a stick was ok. The tastiest and best cooked part were the free chinese donuts. Free. Donuts. Skip the donuts and just cook the food well. Smh

This was the first Chinese restaurant I've tried since moving to the area. I would say it was one of my worst Chinese food orders in the past 20 years. Save on the high blood pressure and dont order from this raw salt lick.

Its listed as a “reliable kitchen” on door dash and that likely only has to do with the time estimates being accurate.

I cant figure out a way to leave zero stars so thats why I gave it 1 star.
