I called this vision works to order new contacts as I was running out and I asked them an insurance question since my insurance has updated. They said they would call me back within 2-3 days. I waited over a week, until I finally called them, and there were no notes that I had even called to ask about insurance. At this point it was too late to simply order more contacts and I HAD to go in for another eye exam. I got there a half hour early for my appointment, and I know that doesn’t guarantee going in early to be seen, but when my appointment time does come around (30 minutes later) and people that got there after me were going before me that’s a problem. I ask when I’m next because I’ve been waiting, at this point 45 mins, the worker checks and says I’m next and sorry that both the workers checking eyes went out to lunch and now they’re backed up. That’s not my responsibility or fault that your workers went to lunch at the same time and are now backed up. It’s the company or managements responsibility to ensure there isn’t a back up in the fist place. Over an hour later after arriving i’m seen by the doctor. He asks why I’m there and I tell him why. Because the workers at the front desk failed to contact me about an insurance question and waited over a week to the point it was too late to just order more contacts. He doesn’t respond to this and just does the eye exam. As he asks me which is worse for two lenses, I say I’m not sure they’re both blurry. He respond: answer my question. Which is worse, not is it blurry. To me, the way he said it, was extremely rude. He continues and says I have to be dilated and I can either do the drops or pay $25 for scans, but the scans I don’t have to leave with blurry vision. Obviously I paid for the scans, I was not in a position to go home with blurry vision for 3 hours. We finish and he says the technician will find a sample pair of contacts for me. I have a special prescription and already know they won’t have a trial pair for me. I ask the woman at the desk if I can just order my contacts instead of wait for the technician, at this point I had been there for an hour and half. She tells me she can’t order contacts for me until the dr sees my eyes with the trials. So this would require more waiting. Thankfully the technician came out right at that moment to say what I already knew, they didn’t have a trial pair for me. I pay for the $25 scan and leave. If I didn’t have to go to this store for insurance purposes, I’d be choosing to go elsewhere after my...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars, then that is what I would have chosen. This has been the SINGLE WORST EXPERIENCE that I have ever had with a business, including Buster's fraudulently charging things to my credit card AND Time Warner's general disdain for their customers. I arrived for the appointment that I made back on 12/19 and despite having made an appointment I waited THREE HOURS to even be seen at the end of which I found out that they didn't have my contacts in stock to give me a trial pair and it would take 10 days to get them in. Fine. Whatever. I was then charged FIFTY DOLLARS for my "fitting" although I'm not sure what that could possibly have meant considering I received no products to fit during my appointment.
Fast forward to 12/30, the day that I was promised my trial pair would be in, I happened to be hospitalized and so I called to see if they could work with me and go ahead and order my contacts before my insurance expired seeing as I have been wearing this same brand and model lenses for nearly ten years. NO WAY! I would have to come back and have ANOTHER (I am assuming) 3 hour wait for a "Progress Check". Somewhat hilariously, a nurse was taking my blood pressure during this time and the results were not great.
I finally get out of the hospital and return to the store today to pick up my trial lenses seeing as how I have now paid $50 for the only pair of contacts I will be able to wear for the foreseeable future since my insurance has now expired. I walk in and wait 5 solid minutes for anyone to even speak to me as I'm standing at the customer service desk, then get sent back to another desk to wait some more for someone to help me. THEN after waiting 25 more minutes I find out that I'm not even waiting for someone to bring them to me, I'm waiting for ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DOCTOR called "Progress Check". I'm not sure what they could POSSIBLY be checking the progress of as I have STILL RECEIVED NO PRODUCTS. Finally, after I begin to get visibly upset someone manages to find my trial pair in the incoming mail and give them to me as they just arrived...
Read moreI've been coming to vision works for years, this is the first time I've used this location (Hamburg) as I was in the area. * I always use Nicholasville rd location and have absolutely no issues, here's a reminder of WHY I will NEVER go back to the Hamburg location. First and foremost, I waited over three hours while everybody took their lunch took turns taking lunch. I sat there and waited. None of the staff ever updated me. Fast-forward it's time for me to go back into the room with the doctor Who was in fact, very rude to me. His name is Kevin Snead, While in the room, I was expressing that my left eye had been blurry for a couple of months so I think that we need to up my prescription. He started doing eye exam on me time for me to read the board I can't see this He yelled at me and said there is no I can't in this room. If you can't see something make out what you think it could be. He got very stern with me And I started getting a little nervous. He states That the contacts I had in right now Perfect and there's no reason why I can't see out of my eye, but instead he said he would fit me for a stigmatism lens, which I have never been told. I have stigmatism and I have been wearing contacts since I was 13. After I put the lens in, he asked how it felt and I said it's even blur than before. He said well there's nothing I can do with you. You have perfect 20/15 vision and so I left the entire night. I was seeing double I was very dizzy. Got a migraine and was Puking from the dizziness fast-forward to the next morning I went to the Nicholasville Road location where I always go and they said there is no need for this astigmatism contact lens and my vision did in fact change in my left eye. Everyone apologized for the care that I received from Doctor Snead. I Have been wearing contacts since I was 13 and by now I know my vision I'm now 25 and it was really frustrating for him to be very stern with me and listen to my concerns and send me home. Then I would become very dizzy, migranes, seeing double and throwing up. Again I do not...
