Swades(Swah-dhes) Grocers — Attraction in Limerick Township

Shopping carts are only found in the parking lot & the doors aren't automatic, so it makes it difficult to get the cart in while holding the door.

They do not have motor scooters if you're disabled.

I figured I'd stop in & check it out. I do enjoy a good Indian dish & I love lentils & several other popular Indian foods.

The only 2 things I actually needed from the store they didn't have: Cucumbers & garlic powder, unfortunately. (Cucumbers out of stock. Garlic powder they do not carry)

They have a $10 minimum to use credit cards & offer a discount for cash. Both very standard & normal.

The store is rather small but it's packed from floor to ceiling with retail product as well as bulk.

The employees saw me taking my sweet old time shopping around & offered me help. He was very friendly & informative on several products I should try. Overall very helpful & nice.

If you have a gluten allergy or Celiac disease, this isn't the business for you. Barely anything in the store beyond the produce is safe, unfortunately.

This store is ideal for Indian food! Only place in the USA that can get you goat meat. Best snacks that you can not imagine. And if you don't find something the Owners will take a note and make sure they get the Indian thing you want from seven seas away from India. I read the comments and they are saying price are high. But many of them haven't lived in the midwest like Chicago and Michigan. If they visit a Indian store there you will know. Plus Indians always want things to be more cheaper in general. Overall, it was nice to see another indian store. Many items were overpriced by 10..25 percent compared to other area stores. Panipuri is 7.99 other vs. 8.99 here. Disappointing fresh produce. I would shop elsewhere if you want fresh produce. Their inventory included 5..6 stale tomatoes and 4 stale green peppers and 2 green onions to give an example. They claim to improve as they get customers' reviews, which is fair for a new store. Also, they would give fresh produced when you ask them at the counter. People would rather pick their own produce instead of asking for everything. (Saves time).
