DFW Surf — Attraction in Little Elm

I went for a paddle board lesson with a group of 11 people. We were charged double what it would cost to rent a board for an hour and our “lesson” was a 5 minute spiel about how to resize our oars and get the boards into the water. Our group (all first timers minus one person) gets out on the water and when we’re ready to try standing, we turn around looking for our guide but she never joined us on the water! We were told that the lesson would be for beginners. We had to figure everything out by ourselves including how to steer the board and what to do if we fell off. For the price we paid we should have just rented boards for the extra time since we had to teach ourselves! Rented paddleboards for an hour. Service was great, the guys working the shop were very friendly and had good suggestions for places to eat afterwords. Price of rental was as expected. Didn't have a watch but they weren't sticklers about how long you're out as long as you bring the rentals back sometime around an hour. One paddleboard didn't have the strings up front so had we wanted to bring a bag out there we would have needed to pick another board, but other than that all good! The little speech about how to paddle was a little excessive given we've done it before, but was to be expected.

Lake was nice. Water was hot. Not too choppy most of the time. Wish there were nicer areas on the lake to paddle to, but not much the company can...

The experience was great we loved it. The service was not good. The guy didn't tell us about the hourly rental. We paid $65 for two kayaks and I didn't know we had to pay hourly the guy didn't tell us anything. When we went to ask the guy if we had to pay hourly or if it was for the whole day. He told us I don't have you tell you anything you signed the agreement. It's not by law you have to tell a client something but it's out of generosity. Being up front and nicely telling the people paying for the services the rental is by the hour so we know we have to come back quick because it's by the hour. The life jackets are all old/ripped up.
