This is a great beginner's trail with a very clear path, part of which is paved. Great for families with young kids, or any dogs, since the elevation barely changes. Currently, June 2024, there are at least 3 low lying spots that are flooded due to all of the rain in May that has allowed the lake level to rise by at least 2.5 ft (so the volleyball courts are underwater). But it's still an enjoyable stroll. In the evening we saw at least 4 cotton-tail rabbits! Lots of wildflowers at certain points. The parking space at Little Elm park south of the trail is huge, we brought in a 12 passenger Nissan van no problem. Still have to pay $10 for parking, but just on the weekend it seems. Bathrooms are pretty decent, and the beach is ok, crowded on a Saturday. Read moreAs I was walking through the tranquil water bordered trail, it was interrupted by all the trash that has accumulated along the tree line and bushes on the outskirts of the trail. Yuck!!
You'd think since Little Elm is now charging people for parking to enjoy the park, they could also have someone regularly clean up the trash (bags, cans, bottles, paper wrappings, etc).
