Dear MS
.** I was never asking for exceptions or special treatment in any way. We asked about the auto draft and upon being told its taken out on the first we were fine with carrying on with our month lease…. *we never requested to move out so you saying that it “is important to mention” is false.
My issue is that we respected the months pay based on the legally binding contract but then was disrespected by MS when you fulfilled the action of “move out” on your own… making it infeasible to reverse.
It’s not being “special” dear. It’s being fair.
While our unit served its purpose our move out was incredibly disappointing and left us feeling robbed. July 1 my family rented a uhaul to gather our things as our home was ready to move in. The office hours were still open so we had asked about our auto draft schedule in hopes that maybe we make it in time. The gentleman said unfortunately it draws on the first and there is absolutely no way for them to give money back and this is why in our contract it’s mentioned to let them know ahead of time. That’s fine, bummer, but we understood. Again, the truck rental and move that weekend all happened by chance so we continued on with our plan that day. That was it… spoke nothing more to anyone else but did make a reminder to call later this month as it would be our last. Today, July 6, we received an email letting us know that our unit looks clear & cleaned (when I didn’t even sweep) and we are officially out. After further emails communicating that they would in fact be renting it back out, a gentleman called saying that if we wanted the unit then we have to come in and sign back up for it. The contracts fine print was shoved in my face about the necessity of early communication when we tried to give this unit up on the weekend of July 1-2 but now with no communication our agreement has been terminated. the contract is only used and served for the good of Modern Storage and not their customer. It’s wrong & prorating this month for us is the right & fair...
Read moreI recently visited this facility to look at his stuff there in his unit. Unfortunately, we encountered an issue with a broken door and requested assistance from the on-site staff.
The employee who responded accused us of causing the damage and insisted that we were responsible for the repair costs. This accusation was made without any evidence and was communicated in a very unprofessional manner.
He told me that the manager was off till Friday. He cannot come. After a while, all of a sudden the manager came :)) with his working shirt. Omg what is going on. Anyways let’s continue.
Later on, the manager arrived and continued to blame my friend for the damage. When I tried to explain that this was not an appropriate way to communicate with customers, the manager told me to step back. I suggested that they should investigate the situation first before placing blame on the customer, but this advice was ignored.
In my experience, storage facilities usually have insurance to cover such incidents. It is unreasonable to blame customers without proper investigation. This was a very disappointing experience and does not reflect the standard of customer service I have come to expect in the United States.
I hope the management will address this issue and ensure better communication and service...
Read moreI had an incredibly BAD experience with this facility. I am relocating from Florida to Little Rock. The company was referred to me by the complex I am moving into because I needed to store a second vehicle since the complex only offers one parking space to residents. I contacted the facility on December 11th in order to get a quote. I felt a bit pressured to reserve my unit in order to lock in the "Special Rate" for the first 3 months (since it ended in December.) I was immediately charged for the First Month. I had made it clear that there was a chance that the vehicle would not be transported depending on the extent of repairs. I found out that the vehicle would need a new engine so, based on that information, I decided to get rid of the vehicle. Upon receiving that news, I contacted the facility right away on December 24th. I was told that they would close the account but they would NOT refund the $103.85. As of this posting, I have not even left Florida, have NEVER seen the unit or facility. You would think that since the Unit was NEVER used, a refund would be reasonable. I would NEVER refer this Company and I will let the individual that did refer them know about the circumstances and NEGATIVE experience. In my opinion,...
