We like the products West Marine carries, but the service at this location is lacking.
We checked for marine antifreeze online. Website said there were hundreds of gallons at Lodi, NJ store, and if we wanted to buy some there, that we would need to call the store to reserve some. We called there two days prior to our visit there and the clerk said there was no need to reserve the antifreeze because they had plenty.
On a Saturday, we arrived to find that we were the only ones there ( besides the clerk and her supervisor). We noticed that the variety of antifreeze was not on the sales floor. We asked the clerk for it and said that the website shows plenty of stock. The clerk went to stockroom and returned to say that she sees the cases of it, but the aisle is to narrow to get to them because they just arrived and were stacked tightly. She suggested that we return home and order them online. We told her that we drove many miles and paid tolls to pick this up. We offered to get the item, if she couldn't reach them. She said we couldn't do that because it was in stockroom.
She then said she would ask her supervisor what could be done( she was in the stockroom). The clerk came back and said the supervisor would get the antifreeze for me. After 10 minutes, the clerk returned to tell us that they did not have any and to order it online.
So, to recap:
First : website says hundreds of gallons are at the store.
Second: clerk answering phone confirms they are there.
Third: clerk at store confirms they are there, but hard to get.
Forth: clerk states supervisor will get them.
Fifth: clerk states that the supervisor says store doesn't have them.
THIS STORE NEEDS BETTER SERVICING OF PAYING CUSTOMERS.

So it was delivered to the lodi store. 2 weeks go past they never notify me. So I call they answer say oh yeah it's been here for a week. So I say hold on to it. Be there in a week. Lol I go there and of course nobody knows nothing at all .so I am upset. So I say OK just refund me. She says I can't do that!! U need to tell me the exact day it was !!! I said I have no idea what date it was !! So she couldn't even refund my money. It's unbelievable all she had to do is type my name in and find out. And she refused to do it. They stink out there and there a rip off with there...

When we arrived a grumpy snarky lower than average intelligence man proceeded to complain that hes by himself and can't answer the phone . He said all the kids were lazy and took the week off and there's no manager. He then finally addressed my question and told me that there was no pump and I should go to Woodbridge. Well my son walked down the aisle and saw it on the shelf...
