Impossible Escape Review
Do you like putting your brain to work by challenging your critical thinking? If so, I have a suitable place in mind for you. Impossible Escape is an exceptional business with a wide variety of escape rooms for you to enjoy. While it is not flashy, this place leaves nothing to be desired with a homemade style, friendly staff, and fun escape rooms for you to enjoy. If you have not been to an escape room, Impossible Escape is a great first-time experience. I recommend going here if you are looking to try something new.
The first time I went my best friend, and I were looking for a new within budget experience. This location is appointment based, so to get a slot you must book online with their simple to the point system that they make quite easy to understand. The business is in a small plaza and was a challenge of its own to find. There is not much parking space, and I would not bring a big party here. Once we made it inside, I noticed how simple the style was. They did not have an extravagant display, but the space felt very homely and comfortable. The staff welcomes you with hospitality and supply their great services to make sure you have the best time.
The hosts are very patient and kindhearted as well. Knowing it had been our first time there, we were allowed one extra hint along with some spare time. The host could tell we were just there for a fun time and not there to set any new records, so they didn’t mind joking with us through the teleprompter (which we thought was super funny). Despite us failing at the end we had an exciting time while the host walked us through what we missed. The host being so friendly left me with an impression and experience I'll never forget.
I can guarantee that if you would like to come back you will never get tired. Most escape rooms put all their time and money into only four rooms to reserve. The rooms are almost never changed, this means year-round for anyone that would like to come back the only options are just the same four rooms. However, at Impossible Escape this is not the case. They switch their rooms up seasonally and continuously provide different challenges and fun for their customers. Just this alone separates them from all other escape rooms and gives them an edge few have.
Compared to other escape rooms, Impossible Escape is on the lower budget side. It is fairly priced, however for bigger groups the price could be expensive. With their variety of rooms, the price is all worth it for the experience. While booking the difficulty levels are displayed, but no matter the level it is fun for everyone. The range of puzzles creates enjoyment for the whole party challenging the smartest of people. I love to be competitive and to see who can solve a problem the quickest despite it being a team effort. Even people who work best alone can find joy here.
I highly recommend these escape rooms for a fun date night, with a small group of friends, or even to go alone. I can see potential difficulty booking for a large group. Between there not being much parking and limited space within the rooms coming with a large group is not the best of ideas. Most people struggle with finding fun activities that are not a far drive away. For a long time, I searched for fun things to do in a town with not many options. Impossible Escape is a wonderful experience for anyone wanting to try something new whether with a few friends or...
Read moreI'm a bit confused as to what all the good reviews are about. I've done over 150 escape rooms so I was hopeful after seeing the good reviews. I'm not sure if we were just unfortunate to get bad game masters, but our experience was pretty bad. The two staff members we interacted with both seemed bored out of their minds. One of them popped in towards the end of the game randomly. He said we needed to do something to move on and then he left. I've never had a game master do that during a room.
I also have never seen a room with so many red herrings. There were multiple keys that had key slots directly related to them that were never meant to be opened, sheets and sheets of paper with no valuable info even though words were highlighted and bolded. There was lock with a four digit code that we thought needed to open to complete the game. This is because when we found the clue the supposedly did complete the game, nothing happened. There was no indication the game was done, no lights came on, nothing. This last clue had a bunch of scribbles on it which looked like it needed to be solved but we shouldn't have been surprised it was another pointless red herring. The game master came in 10 minutes later when the time ran out, saw the clue in our hands and was like, "oh you're done, you won the game." We looked at him confused and pointed to the 4 digit lock. He said, "oh, it's from another game, it's not meant to be opened." Which meant we were standing around for 10 minutes trying to solve a puzzle that didn't exist.
There were some interesting technical elements in the room but overall, the lackluster game masters and ridiculous amount of red herrings really turned us off. I understand why they were there because there wasn't really enough real puzzles and content for an hour without having participants fumble around with fake ones.
There was also fog fluid that was left in the room that wasn't supposed to be in there. I recommend mastermind escape, odyssey escape game, or the escape game for a more immersive and...
Read moreWe had a very rough experience here. It started off badly during the intro video in the room. We were looking around the room as we listened to the video and someone came in and said very sternly that we are not allowed to do anything in the room until the video is over. That was interesting because we did another room at this same place a month ago and started looking around during the intro and no one said anything. So that set the tone at the very beginning in a negative way. Then throughout the game, they kept typing on the tv screen redirecting us. For example, for one part we had to open a briefcase so we were putting different combinations in to open it and they typed telling us not to force it open. We weren’t even trying to do that! We were just typing in combinations. There was another clue and as we tried to do what the clue told us to do, nothing happened. We tried over and over and they finally typed telling us to stop - they said we had solved that part and we needed to move on. But the weird thing was we didn’t think we had solved anything. It wasn’t clear what we had accomplished by doing what the clue told us to do. They wasted a lot of our time by typing on the screen with little messages. We ended up breaking out probably two seconds after time ran out. But we had solved it before the employees came to the door to get us. When they opened the door they were very rude. They didn’t ask us if we had questions about the game. They acted like we had totally failed even tho we solved it two seconds after time was up. Other escape rooms we’ve been to the game masters have always been super nice. They’ve answered any questions we’ve had and just talked to us for a while but not these people. I would not recommend this escape room to anyone. There are wayyy better...
