In Style Nails — Attraction in Lone Tree

Eh...I have not had my nails done in about 4 years. I like the look of natural nails but the polish just doesn't last. I had a 10 day trade show coming up and wanted to try gel nails. I know that my nails will not look exactly like the picture I showed because I am not getting acrylics, but the color could at least be close... My tech was nice. The Dremel tool they use to smooth the top of the nails went a bit too far back on my cuticles. They are a little sore and pink now. Maybe only on 3 fingers, but ouch! I wanted gel, but she was a salesperson and said dip nails would be better. I wanted matte finish and she tried to talk me out of that. I did stick to my 'guns' on that. Attached are photos of what I wanted and what I received. I liked the look of the gold, but got silver...whatever! My 15 yr old went with me and got acrylics. She told them she wanted clear several times, but received a pink base. She hates pink. She paid for her own nails and we left. I didn't realize how upset she was until we were on our way home. She painted over them as soon as we got home. Not sure if they listen to what the customer wants or just does the norm... My 8 yr old also got her nails painted. That was quick and easy. I am a dog person - believe me, but they have 2 dogs in the place that sleep near the front door. Naturally people want to pet them. My 8 yr old went to pet one on the floor and it took off and turned around fast on her. She wasn't chasing it. I was right there and told her to stop...I felt like that dog may do something. I came here this past weekend to get a mani/pedi for a wedding. My nail tech was Helen and I felt like she rushed through my entire appointment because they were busy. I called days in advance and told them exactly want a needed so there is no excuse. My shellac pedicure was first and I purchased the royal package which included a scrub, foot wax wrap, and hot stone massage in addition to normal pedi items. She took all of 10 seconds to use the lavender scrub on only the top if my foot. Yeah that felt horrible. The wax wrap felt nice, but only because she didn't have to do anything. For the hot stone massage she didn't even reach around to get the back of my calves, she did the same up and down motion on my shin bone the entire time. That felt horrible as well. No complaints about how she painted my toes (French style). So on to the manicure. She did absolutely no cuticle care prior to slapping on the acrylics (mind you they werent put in straight). And then she seemed to forget that I asked for a French manicure and had to grind away the space for the white tips, so now my tips dont have a nice curve to them, you can tell curve was made by hand and not with the tool they are supposed to use. Then she didn't even have me wash my hands prior to putting on the top coat and essentially kicked me out of her station when she was done. I ended up having to leave with nail dust all over my hands and used the wipes in my car to clean them. It was just an awful experience and i paid $125+tip for it! I've been here on and off for a few years (it's close to my office) and they usually always do a great job and are really friendly! I got my dip done a month ago and the lady did an awesome job and they lasted over three weeks. Absolutely 4.5 stars! They also have a ton of color selections!

However - this is where the lower rating comes in... I went in last night to get a nail fixed (which I had done somewhere else) that had a tip and dip on it. Instead of drilling and soaking the nail off - the nail technician went to town and took clippers to the tip and my natural nail underneath it. Then, she ripped off my dip (nail plate completely ruined) and didn't even care to file my natural nail after having destroyed it. It had finally started to grow and now it's just as short as my nail fold and looks like I bit and ripped it off. When she finally did the new dip and tip, she barely managed to shape them like the rest of my nails and did an overall poor job. I came here because I knew they were fast and efficient, since the original place I went to took too long with hand filing. HOWEVER, I didn't expect to come out with my natural nail damaged and my new dip and tip looking worse than the rest of my nails.

I will still continue to come here, but I will be weary with having them fix anything or...
